WINDY CITY LIVE’S “DREAM BIG, DREAM GIG” PRESENTED BY BUICK
OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
I. NAME OF SPONSOR(S)
American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., WLS Television, Inc. and “Windy City LIVE”(“ABC” or “Host”) ), in connection with the Windy City LIVE’s Dream Big, Dream Gig Contest, (the “Contest”), sponsored by Chicagoland Buick GMC Dealers Advertising Association (“Buick” or “Sponsor”), hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Contest Sponsors”.
II. ELIGIBILITY
Entrants must be thirteen (13) years of age or older as of April 17, 2017 with valid Facebook account and/or access to the Internet and legal residents of Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin; and must reside in one of the following counties: in Illinois – Lake, McHenry, DeKalb, Kane DuPage, Cook, Kendall, Will Grundy, Kankakee, La Salle; in Indiana – Lake, Porter, La Porte, Newton, Jasper; and in Wisconsin – Kenosha, Walworth, Racine.
IF ENTRANT IS A MINOR, PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN’S PERMISSION IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST. ENTRANT’S PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN (IF ENTRANT IS DEEMED A MINOR IN HIS/HER STATE OF RESIDENCE) WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PARENTAL CONSENT IN A FORM SATISFACTORY TO THE SPONSOR TO SUBMIT ENTRY.
ALL Finalists must be available to travel to Chicago as early as Tuesday, May 2, 2017 to appear on the “Windy City LIVE” broadcast from 12:00pm CT to 2:30pm and on May 8, 2017, from 9:30am to 2:30pm to co-host the “Windy City LIVE” show on Monday, May 8, 2017. If finalists are unable to appear on a designated date, those finalists will be disqualified.
Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for ABC or Sponsor and/or its respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter or play. “Immediate family members” shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. “Household members” shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year.
III. HOW AND WHEN TO ENTER

Entrants must go to the Windy City LIVE web site (http://www.WindyCityLIVE.com), click on the “Dream Big, Dream Gig” contest graphic; or click the “Promotions” graphic and scroll down to the “Dream Big, Dream Gig” Contest information to click the official entry link. Entrants will be required to submit a first and last name, City & State, contact phone number, valid email address to complete the registration process and upload a ”Video Submission” (see details below) demonstrating why he/she should win a “Dream Gig” as a special guest-host for a day on “Windy City LIVE.” Entrants must also agree to the terms and conditions of the Contest.
To enter via Facebook:
Entrants must go to the Windy City LIVE Facebook page (http://www.Facebook.com/WindyCityLIVE) and click the link within the “Dream Gig” post on the page. Entrants will be required to submit a first and last name, City & State, contact phone number, valid email address to complete the registration process and submit a “Video Submission” (see details below) demonstrating why he/she should win a “Dream Gig” as a special guest-host for a day on “Windy City LIVE.” Entrants must also agree to the terms and conditions of the Contest.
For the purposes of this Contest, a Video Submission is defined as:
a) A video not exceeding two minutes (2:00) in length.
b) Entrant must be featured in the video.
c) All Videos must be original and owned by the Entrant
d) All videos must be uploaded directly on the Entry site.
Limit one (1) Entry per person, per household.
Entrant further represents and warrants that their submission adheres to the fundamental spirit of the “Dream Gig”. Contest Sponsors are not responsible for any injury, loss or damage, opinion expressed or information provided in the videos transmitted on the contest websites or on television.
Entries must comply with the following content guidelines to be eligible:
• Video Submission must be created and recorded by Entrant and Entrant has all rights to use, submit and allow the material to be made public, posted and/or broadcast.
• Content may not be: sexually explicit or suggestive; dangerous; violent; derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; endorse hate or hate groups; offensive; profane, pornographic, obscene or contain nudity.
• Content may not promote or show alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, firearms/weapons, any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message.
• Content may not defame, misrepresent or contain disparaging remarks about Contest Sponsors, or other products, people or companies.
• Content may not contain trademarks, logos or trade-dress (such as distinctive packaging or building exteriors/interiors) owned by others, or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind or contain any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, e-mail addresses or street addresses.
• Content may not contain copyrighted materials owned by others (including music, photographs, movies, television programs, sculptures, paintings and other works of art or images published, broadcast or publically displayed).
• Content may not contain materials embodying the names, likenesses, photographs, or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead, without permission.
• Content may not depict any, and may not itself be in, violation of any law.
Video file must be submitted by the
Entrant in one of the following video file formats: asf, asx, avi, divx, dv,
dvx, m4v, mov, mp4, mpeg, mpg, qt, wmv, 3g2, 3gp, 3ivx, 3vx. The required size
for the Submission is 50MB or less.
Entries remain the property of Sponsor and will not be returned or
acknowledged.
Entries and finalist submissions that may be broadcast and/or posted online
solely represent the views/opinions of the individual Entrants and do not
reflect the views/opinions of the Contest Sponsors and/or Facebook in any
manner. Sponsor may disqualify any submission and withdraw or remove any entry
that is in violation of the restrictions, requirements and guidelines set forth
in these official rules, including without limitation, Entrant’s failure to
have Sponsor’s eligibility and publicity/release documents and any
documentation requested to be signed and returned within the time-period
requested.
Contest Entry Period: 12:01 AM CT, Monday, April 17, 2017 to 2:00 PM CT, Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
For Facebook entries, you understand that you are providing your information to Sponsor and not to Facebook, and that this Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered or associated with Facebook. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding this Contest should be directed to Sponsor, and not Facebook.
Sponsor can provide no technical support and accepts no responsibility for insuring the receipt or successful submission of your entry. Mass entries or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated methods will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to electronic malfunction or damage of any network, hardware or software. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. No responsibility is assumed for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; or any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or electronic entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web-site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to Entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials from this Contest. In the event of a dispute over an electronic entry, prize will be awarded to the owner of the e-mail account, not the name on the entry form. Except as otherwise contemplated by these Rules, and to the extent Entrants may otherwise elect at the time of Entry, information provided by you for these Contest is subject to Sponsor’s privacy policy located at https://disneyprivacycenter.com/privacy-policy-translations/english (“Privacy Policy”).
IV. HOW AND WHEN WINNERS WILL BE SELECTED AND NOTIFIED
On Friday, April 28, 2017, the TOP TEN (10) Semi-Finalists, selected by Sponsor from all entries submitted will be announced on the air. The criteria for selection at all stages of the contest, unless otherwise indicated, include: 1) Creativity (25%); 2) Overall Performance (25%); 3) Enthusiasm and Personality (25%); and Presentation (25%) (“Judging Criteria”). Each Submission will receive a score based on the Judging Criteria for a maximum of up to one hundred (100) points. Sponsor reserves the right to select fewer than 10 Semi-Finalists, if in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified submissions.
All potential Semi-Finalists will be notified on the Windy City LIVE broadcast on Friday, April 28, 2017 between the hours of 1:00pm CT and 2:00pm CT. All potential Semi-Finalists will also be notified by email immediately following the broadcast.
Semi-Finalist Video Voting Period: Starting at 2:00PM CT, on Friday, April 28, 2017 and ending at 2:00PM CT, on Monday, May 1, 2017, the public will be invited to vote on the Semi-Finalist they deem to have the best video. The link for Semi-Finalist voting will be published on WindyCityLIVE.com at 1:00PM, Friday, April 28, 2017. Limit one (1) vote per person per computer per day.
The TOP Three (3) Semi-Finalists garnering the highest vote totals will be deemed Finalists and the TOP Three (3) Finalist Videos will be announced on or about Monday May 1, 2017.
ALL FINALISTS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO appear on the “Windy City LIVE” broadcast on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 12:00pm CT to 2:30pm CT and explain to viewers why they should be selected as a Windy City LIVE co-host for a day.
Finalist Viewer Voting Period: Starting at 2:00 PM CT on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 and ending at 6:00AM CT on Friday, May 5, 2017, the public will be invited to vote on the Finalists. The link for Finalist voting will be published on WindyCityLIVE.com at 12:30pm, May 2, 2017.. Limit one (1) vote per person per computer per day.
The Finalist achieving the greatest total number of votes will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner. In the event of a tie, the Executive Producer of “Windy City LIVE” or his designee will determine the Winner.
One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be announced live on the “Windy City LIVE” broadcast, Friday, May 5, 2017 at approximately 1:50PM CT.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Final determination of winner is always conditional on verification of eligibility and compliance with all rules and procedures.
V. PRIZE(S)
GRAND PRIZE: Windy City LIVE Co-Host For A Day Prize Package, which includes: One (1) appearance on Windy City LIVE as a Guest Co-Host on Monday, May 8, 2017; hair and make-up services provided by the WLS make-up team; round-trip car service to and from the WLS Studio, 190 N State St, Chicago. If Winner is a minor, a parent/legal guardian must accompany winner on appearance dates and will be required to complete the travel companion release and publicity forms, in addition to any other release or eligibility forms requested by Sponsor.
Since this prize cannot be purchased, it has no approximate retail value. Entrants and finalists acknowledge that they understand that the prize is for an opportunity to become a co-host for a day and that entrants and finalists will not be hired or considered for a permanent co-host position, and that no such offer of employment or consideration for employment is part of the prize or contest.
All expenses not specifically provided for herein are the winner’s sole responsibility. Some restrictions may apply.
Federal, state and local taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner, who will receive an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the final actual value of any prize valued at $600 or more.
Winners are not entitled to exchange or transfer prizes or to obtain cash or other substitutes, but Sponsor in its sole discretion may substitute prizes of equal or greater value.
Prize is subject to availability. Sponsor is not responsible for cancellation or preemption of the show or for other circumstances that make it impractical or impossible to fulfill this element of the prize. This element of the prize has no approximate retail value, and if it becomes impractical or impossible to fulfill this element, Sponsor’s only obligation will be to provide the remainder, if any, of prize.
VI. RELEASES
By participating, Entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of ABC, Sponsor, Judges and/or the Contest administrator, which shall be final in all respects.
By participating in this Contest and accepting any prize that they may win, Entrants agree to release ABC, its parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers, including but not limited to Chicagoland Buick GMC Dealers Advertising Association, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns, Sponsor and Facebook (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, directly or indirectly, from participation in this Contest and/or acceptance or use of the prize.
Entrants authorize the Released Parties to use their name, voice, likeness, biographical data, city and state of residence and entry materials in programming or promotional material, in any media now known or hereafter created or conceived, worldwide in perpetuity, or on a winner’s list, if applicable, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Sponsor is not obligated to use any of the above mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation.
By submitting entry materials, entrant (or parent/legal guardian of entrant, if entrant is a minor) certify that such materials are original and created by entrant, that entrant has the necessary rights, permission and authority to submit such materials, and, if applicable, that entrant maintain a valid copyright in the materials. Entrants acknowledge that such materials may be included and/or discussed in a broadcast, that such discussion may include statements or opinions by the broadcast talent or others about the entrants, the entrants’ appearances and/or the materials, and that those statements and opinions may be considered surprising, humiliating, embarrassing, derogatory, defamatory or otherwise offensive or injurious to them, Sponsor’s employees, its studio or at-home audience and/or other third parties. Entrants release the Released Parties from any actions, claims, injury, loss or damage allegedly caused, directly or indirectly, by any use of the materials and/or such statements or opinions made in connection with them during a broadcast.
To claim prize, (a) winner will be required to provide proof of age, identity and residency, (b) winner (or parent/legal guardian, if winner is a minor) must sign and return affidavit of eligibility/compliance with rules, publicity/liability release and indemnification, and (c) winner’s intended guest(s) or travel companion(s), if any, may be required to sign liability/publicity release, all within the time period specified by Sponsor.
VII. MISCELLANEOUS; WINNERS’ LIST
Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. By entering in this contest, all Entrants agree that they have read these Official Rules and the Facebook terms and policies, and agrees to abide by these terms and conditions and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify and/or suspend the Contest in the event of tampering or other circumstances, including but not limited to acts of God or civil disturbance that render it impractical or impossible to complete or fulfill the Contest originally planned.
The Winner’s name will be posted on the Windy City LIVE Facebook page (http://facebook.com/windycitylive) and on the Windy City LIVE Web site (http://windycitylive.com) on Contest end date.
