Choosing the right one while the right one stands in front of you.

As long as I've known her, my friend Shannon has shown her love for people through her cooking - she will be the first to drop off a stew for a family going through a hard time, and the first to volunteer to bring a dish to a gathering. We've known each other for more than 10 years, and every Christmas we get together with our high school friends to do a gift exchange. Shannon hosted this year and I took photos of her preparing dinner for everyone. I loved how this radish looked like a little heart as she was cutting it, as a symbol of the way she expresses her care through her cooking. <3

I took some in-home couple portraits for a friend who recently moved in with her partner after many years of long distance. They often twist their feet around each other when hanging out at home, and I think it was a beautiful symbol of the way their lives are finally intertwining.
