Brisbane Living Heritage 2022 Photo Competition
Terms and Conditions
The Brisbane Living Heritage Photography Competition (the Competition) is promoted by Brisbane Living Heritage (BLH), ABN 49 108 737 695.
Entry to the Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Entry to the Competition is free.
Entry is open to people aged 18 years or more.
BLH Board or employees and their immediate family members are not permitted to enter this competition.
Photographs entered into this competition must have been taken at a participating BLH member site or event between 1 January and 9 October 2022; for a list of participating members, see Places to Visit on the BLH website: brisbanelivingheritage.org/places-to-visit
There are two categories as part of the Competition:
A prize of $400 will be awarded to one winner in each category.
A prize of $350 will be awarded to the ‘People’s Choice’ award, which is the overall entry with the most votes.
To be eligible for a prize, entrants must submit the appropriate entry form via the BLH website.
There is no limit to the number of photographs an entrant may submit; each photograph requires an additional entry submission.
Entries for the Competition open at 11am AEST on Friday 9 September 2022 and close at 11pm AEST on Sunday 9 October 2022; no entries will be accepted outside of this period.
By entering the Competition, the entrant acknowledges that they are the original creator of the work entered and have obtained consent of any people appearing in the photograph; for information on consent, see artslaw.com.au/info-sheets/info-sheet/street-photographers-rights
Entries can only be digital images submitted via the Competition website.
Images can be landscape, portrait or square, and should be formatted to JPG format, in RGB colour mode, at 300 DPI, and no more than 5 MB in size.
All image file names must contain the entrant’s name and the BLH member site name where the image was taken; example Joan-Smith-Brisbane-Powerhouse.jpg
BLH reserves the right to deem any entry in the Competition as ineligible; reasons of ineligibility may include profanity, nudity, racist, sexist or political comment, unsafe or illegal behaviour, destruction and/or vandalism of public property, or material that may otherwise be potentially detrimental to BLH and its partners and supporters.
Photos in both categories will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by BLH, using the following criteria:.
The judging panel will select the winner of each category.
All decisions made by the judging panel are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
The winner of the People’s Choice Award will be the entry with the most votes on the website.
The public voting period, via the website, will open at 11am AEST on Friday 9 September 2022 and close at 11pm AEST on Sunday 23 October 2022; no votes will be accepted outside of this period.
Prize winners will be notified directly by BLH, with an email sent by 4pm AEST on Wednesday 26 October 2022.
All winners and short-listed entries will be published via the BLH website, social media and newsletter.
By entering the Competition, the entrant acknowledges that their personal information will be used for the purpose of conducting the Competition in accordance with BLH’s obligations under the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld).
By entering the Competition, the entrant acknowledges that copyright remains with the photographer but BLH is given the right to use the image free of fees or royalties in the promotion of BLH and BLH Member organisations, including but not limited to the BLH website, social media, newsletters or in any other material produced by BLH in the future.
BLH reserves the right to cancel the Competition at its sole discretion, for any reason.
