Youth Week Contest 2019 - Terms and Conditions
  1. The video contest is open to all 18-30 years old residing in one of the Erasmus+ programme countries: EU countries + Turkey, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia and Serbia.
  2. Entered videos should depict the ways young people participate in democracy.
  3. Video should be in English and no longer than 60 sec.
  4. Video should be no larger than 50MB.
  5. Videos should be submitted until the 10th April midnight CET.
  6. A video contest participant can submit up to 3 videos.
  7. Submitted video(s) will be displayed in the Woobox gallery immediately. The contest organiser reserves the right to moderate the contributions and remove any submission considered inappropriate (including hate speech, discrimination, swear words, promoting reckless behaviour and disrespecting fundamental values) without prior and further notice.
  8. You can request through the Woobox portal to have your video removed.
  9. 30 winners will be selected by a jury made up of colleagues working in youth and social media fields at the Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture at the European Commission.
  10. The winning videos will be selected evaluating them on the following main criteria:
    1. Compliance with contest’s Terms and Conditions.
    2. Argumentation presented in a video.
  11. The winners selected by the jury will be contacted by the European Commission’s contractor (Cecoforma) from this email address : contesteuropeanyouthweek2019@cecoforma.com, and will be asked to sign the authorisation form to allow the European Commission to use their videos on the European Commission’s social media and websites. In failing to do so within 5 days, another participant on the shortlist of the winners will be chosen as a winner.
  12. Just so you know:
    1. Be original.
    2. You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright to the video you submitted.
    3. Stay safe. Do not put yourself or others in danger when taking your video.
    4. Ask permission.
      Please remember that certain buildings, trademarks, designs, etc. may require the permission of the owner or holder of the IP right. In submitting your video, you declare that you have complied with all relevant laws and obtained all necessary permissions.
      Regarding those individuals that are recognisable in your video, make sure you have their prior and written consent which explicitly covers the purpose of this contest and the possible re-use by the European Commission, among others, on social media.

PRIVACY STATEMENT for European Youth Week Video Contest

This video contest is part of the European Youth Week 2019, organised by the European Commission together with the European Parliament.

When you enter this video contest, you will be asked to provide certain personal data on the Woobox platform which ensures compliance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation  https://woobox.com/gdpr).
These data are necessary for your identification, for the organisation of the contest and for verifying your eligibility (last name, first name, country of residence, date of birth, email address, Twitter and Instagram handles).

Once you agree to the Terms and Conditions and to this Privacy Statement, certain personal data (email address, country of residence, date of birth, Twitter and Instagram handles) necessary for the organisation of the contest will be transmitted to and processed and stored by the European Commission and its contractor (Cecoforma). No personal data is transmitted to parties, which are outside the recipients and the legal framework mentioned here.

The collected personal data and all information related to this video contest will be stored on the servers of the European Commission, Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, which are compliant with the Commission's security decisions and provisions established by the Directorate of Security for this kind of servers and services.

The collected personal data and all information related to the contest will also be stored on a computer of the external contractor (Cecoforma), acting as processor, who has to guarantee the data protection and confidentiality required by Regulation (EU) 2018/1725.

The personal data of all the participants of the contest (including the winners) is kept as long as follow-up actions to the video contest are necessary with regard to the purpose(s) of the processing of personal data but all personal data will be deleted from all databases 1 year after the last action in relation to the video contest.
