Nominations are open for WIC's Kate Muir Student Encouragement Award 2023

This award is open to female Year 12 students in the ACT region planning on further studies in ICT in 2024.

Nominations close on 20 October 2023 and awards will be presented at the WIC Annual Dinner Debate on 17 November 2022.

Each year, WIC recognises the achievements of young female secondary school students and awards them a financial contribution to assist with their tertiary studies in a digital technology or ICT related field.

Awards will be presented at the WIC Dinner Debate on 17 November 2023, shortlisted students will be invited to attend the dinner with their parent or guardian.

The Kate Muir Student Encouragement Award and runner up awards are available to young women who meet the following criteria:

• they are finishing Year 12 in 2023
• they have undertaken studies and achieved a high standard of grades in digital or ICT related subjects over the past two years of study
• they are intending to continue studying ICT or a related digital technology discipline at a university or other tertiary organisation in 2024
• they have demonstrated good citizenship in their community

and/or

• they have achieved in their studies despite significant barriers to participation.

All eligible students nominated for the WIC Student Award (whether shortlisted or not) will receive a printed certificate of nomination from the WIC committee.
