Entries open on 24th June 2023 and close at 11:59pm (AEST) 15th October 2023 and may only be submitted online. The WINNERS will be announced on World Kangaroo Day 24th Oct 2023.

- Youth Under 18 - $200 (plus signed Canvas Photo Print $99.95) - Judged by Robert Irwin
- Kangaroos in Care (a special category for wildlife carers) - $250 - Judged by Steve Parish
- People Choice $50. Voting closes NOON - 24th October
All entrants must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Entry is free
- The competition accepts photos of kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos and/or pademelons
- A kangaroo, wallaby, wallaroo or pademelon must be included in the photograph
- The photograph must be your original work and you must be you must be the sole copyright holder of the work
- All photos must be suitable for displaying in a public environment.
- Photographs maybe printed and displayed in a physical exhibition anywhere in the world with the aim to protect kangaroos.
- Entrants may use digital image manipulation (e.g. Photoshop) if they desire.
- The Promoter reserve the right to remove any photographs from the exhibition
- All copyright remains with the photographer / entrant.
- Images submitted with watermarks or branding on them will not be considered for judging and will be disqualified.
- The Promoter take no responsibility for copyright infringements
- Entrants must confirm you have obtained the informed consent from any human subjects in the photograph
- By entering the awards, entrants grant the Promoter use non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, and publicly display the photographs you submit to the World Kangaroo Day Photography Competition, for use in any media and at any venue, including but not limited to any World Kangaroo Day publication, webpage, digital media and exhibition related to the Photographic Competition, and to be used in World Kangaroo Day promotions, including, advertising future photographic competitions and to sub-license for the above purposes to any entity associated with World Kangaroo Day.
- By entering the awards, entrants grant the Promoter use of credited images through the Promoter’s website, newsletter and social media channels to promote the WKD Day and its initiatives at any time in the future.
- The Promoter will not be liable for any third party misuse of images.
- In order for your entry to be valid, you must submit it using the online entry system on WorldKangarooDay.org, including:
- Completing the online entry form, including a short written statement about your photo.
