If I complete the application, does that guarantee acceptance?

No. Submitting the application does not guarantee acceptance. To be eligible to receive digital arcs, an influencer must have more than 1,000 followers on a social media platform. To be considered for print arcs, a potential influencer partner must have over 5,000 followers and live in the United States. All potential partners must be 18+ years old.

If I’m already in another Sourcebooks influencer program, do I need to apply?

Yes. All influencers, including those accepted into another Sourcebooks influencer program, must apply. This helps ensure we maintain a fresh and diverse group of influencers who best represent Poisoned Pen Press.

If I missed the application period, can I still be a part of the program?

Our influencer program opens three times a year for short-term periods allowing potential partners to request titles publishing in our Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. The imprint launches announces signup periods on Instagram (@poisonedpenpress) and TikTok (@poisonedpenpress). The link to sign up for the program lives at the link in bio on those platforms.

If you miss a sign up period, you’ll need to wait until the next seasonal application period. Be sure to follow us on Instagram (@PoisonedPenPress) for updates on the application period and other opportunities to collaborate with us.

If you are not accepted, we encourage you to browse through NetGalley and request titles that you feel are a good fit for your account. Please make sure your links and bio are fully updated.

What are your expectations for influencers in the program?

Most importantly, we want you to read and enjoy your early access titles! We’d also love for you to share an honest review on your social media, Goodreads, StoryGraph, NetGalley, or any place you like to talk about your favorite books. Feel free to use the hashtag #PoisonedPenPress and tag us @poisonedpenpress on Instagram and TikTok.

If you choose to post about a complimentary book you received from Poisoned Pen Press, you must disclose our relationship within each relevant post, as required by the FTC. This disclosure must occur at the top of your post before any “expand” or “read more” button. Please use at least one of these two mandatory disclosures:

• “Thanks so much to @poisonedpenpress for the free book!”
• Tag the imprint and use the imprint's Partner hashtags: #PoisonedPenPressPartner

Do you exclusively work with book-related influencers?

While we primarily work with book-focused influencers, we’re open to creators whose main content isn’t book-related. If books resonate with you or your audience, we encourage you to apply! Feel free to include a note in your application about how your content connects to the bookish community.

Will I be compensated for any reviews that I post?

Sourcebooks does not offer monetary compensation for buzz mailings that have no posting requirement. For buzz mailings, we will provide you with complimentary books and give you the opportunity to read and review them, but you are under no obligation to do so.

Sourcebooks may reach out to offer monetary compensation for sponsored content where posting is required. These paid posts will be within specific parameters, including timing and content guidelines, and potentially content approval.

When do the ARCs become available for request?

For accepted influencers, ARCs will become available for request on a rolling basis. Make sure that emails from poisonedpenpartnerships@sourcebooks.com go to your inbox, not spam!

Will I receive a copy of every available ARC?

No, but we will try our best to match you with the ARC and e-copies that you have requested. Please note that physical ARCs are limited in quantity, and not all titles will have ARCs available.

Once I request a copy, how quickly can I expect to receive it?

We send ARCs on a rolling basis throughout the season! You’ll receive an email that your ARC is in the mail in advance of receiving it.

How can I update my contact information after signing up or requesting a title?

Can I be in this program and other Sourcebooks imprint influencer programs?

Yes! However, acceptance into the Poisoned Pen Press influencer program does not guarantee acceptance into other Sourcebooks imprint influencer programs.
