Wahl College Cuts Football Contest

Official Rules

CONTEST DESCRIPTION: The Wahl College Cuts Football Contest (“Contest”) begins November 21, 2022 at 12:00:01 AM Central Time (“CT”) and ends December 16, 2022 at 11:59:59 PM CT (“Contest Period”). The phrase “line it up” not only refers to the perfectly lined edges of a haircut, but also for football linemen to get in position. When cutting your own hair, it can be difficult to line up the back correctly on your own. Luckily, quarterbacks know that linemen have their back in more ways than one. In this Contest, WAHL Clipper Corporation (“Sponsor”) is asking nominators (“Nominators”) to nominate a nominee (“Nominee”) by submitting a nomination (“Nomination”) in which the Nominator answers the question “Who’s got your back?”

ELIGIBILITY: Nominators and Nominees must be 18 years of age or older at time of submitting a Nomination and be legal residents of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. This Contest is void where prohibited by law. Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor and its parent company, affiliates or subsidiaries, and advertising and promotional agencies, judging organization, and any other individual or company involved in the development, promotion, or execution of the Contest, and members of those employees’ immediate families (spouse and parent, children and siblings, and their respective spouses and children, regardless of where they reside), and persons living in the same household (whether or not related) of such employees are ineligible to participate or win. Sponsor will determine in its sole discretion whether a potential Nominator and/or Nominee meets the eligibility requirements. By submitting a Nomination, Nominator agrees to these Official Rules, and the decisions of the Sponsor and/or its independent judges, which are final and binding in all respects.

HOW TO SUBMIT A NOMINATION: During the Contest Period, go to Wahl Grooming’s Facebook page (https://facebook.com/wahlgrooming/) or @wahlgrooming on Instagram and click on the “Wahl College Cuts Football Contest” page tab to access the Contest Application. Follow the directions to enter the Contest, including providing the Nominator’s accurate contact information and Instagram handle as well as a short essay answer to the question “Who’s got your back?” (“Essay”) (collectively, a “Nomination”). Nominator must also follow @wahlgrooming on Instagram at the time of submission of the Nomination, or anytime during the promotion (not applicable if the Nominator is already following @wahlgrooming on Instagram at time of entry). All Nominations must be received by the close of the Contest Period to be considered. Each Nomination must comply with the Contest Nomination Requirements (defined below) and these Official Rules. Limit one Nomination per Nominator; a Nominee may be nominated by more than one Nominator. Nominations received from any Nominator in excess of the limitation will be void if discovered by Sponsor. Multiple, separate Nominations may be submitted from different individuals residing in the same household. No forms of Nomination other than as stated in these Official Rules will be accepted.

NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the provisions set forth herein, each Nomination must comply with the following guidelines or will be subject to disqualification:

1) The Essay:

c.   must not have been submitted in any other competition;

  7. The Essay cannot advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind, or contain any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names (other than the name of the Nominee), email addresses or street addresses;

Nominator represents and warrants that the Nomination is in compliance with the Nomination requirements set forth above and that Nominator has the ability to grant the rights set forth herein. All Nominations will undergo screening for compliance with the guidelines and requirements set forth in these Official Rules, and Sponsor may post certain Essays on its Facebook page, Instagram page, WahlUSA.com, and Wahl’s other social channels. The posting of an Essay on Sponsor’s Facebook page, Instagram page, WahlUSA.com, or Wahl’s other social channels is not an indication that a Nomination is likely to be chosen as a winner. By submitting a Nomination, Nominator agrees that the Nomination conforms to these Official Rules and that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may disqualify the Nomination for any reason, including if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Nomination fails to conform to these Official Rules in any way or otherwise contains unacceptable content as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion. BY SUBMITTING A NOMINATION, NOMINATOR ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HIS OR HER ESSAY MAY BE POSTED ON SPONSOR’S WEBSITE, ITS FACEBOOK PAGE, ITS INSTAGRAM PAGE, AND ITS OTHER SOCIAL PAGES, AND/OR ON THE CONTEST PLATFORM, IN SPONSOR’S DISCRETION, and Nominator grants Sponsor and its agents an unlimited, worldwide, perpetual, license and right to publish, use, and publicly perform the Essay in any way, in all media, without limitation, and without consideration to the Nominator. Sponsor reserves the right not to post or, after posting, to remove, an Essay for any reason. Once the Nomination has been submitted, Nominator will not be permitted to change the Nomination. The Nomination information provided is subject to WAHL’s Privacy Policy. To read that Policy, access www.WahlUSA.com and then click the “Privacy Notice” link.

WINNER SELECTION: All eligible Nominations will be evaluated and reviewed by a judging panel appointed by the Sponsor and consisting of employees of the Sponsor’s marketing team to determine whether the Nomination complies with these Official Rules and to score the Nomination based on the following judging criteria:

  1. Demonstration of genuine appreciation for the Nominee, including a specific example of how the nominee had the nominator's back (100%)

The two highest overall scoring Nominations will be deemed winners, pending confirmation that they meet the eligibility requirements. If there is a tie for second place, the tied Nominations will be re-judged to break the tie.

WINNER NOTIFICATION AND VERIFICATION: After the close of the Contest Period, Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winning Nominators by email or telephone. Potential winning Nominators must respond within 48 hours of initial notification attempt and confirm their participation and acceptance of the winner designation and provide contact information for the Nominee they nominated. Potential winning Nominees must respond within 48 hours of initial notification attempt and confirm their participation and acceptance of the winner designation. All potential winning Nominators and Nominees must also sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability Form, Publicity Release (where lawful), a Federal Form W-9 (with a valid Social Security number) and submit a photocopy of a valid government issued photo ID (either driver’s license or passport) as validation to verify they are the Nominators and Nominees in the Nomination, within 72 hours of the time Sponsor sends forms to potential winning Nominator and Nominee. If either potential Nominator or Nominee: fails to respond to initial notification by the deadline set forth above, fails to sign and return required documents or provide identification by the deadlines set forth above, or is not in compliance with these Official Rules (including eligibility requirements), both the Nominator and Nominee will be disqualified, and Sponsor may select an alternate winner (the non-winning Nomination with the next highest score) if time permits. A potential winning Nominator or Nominee should not accept a prize in this Contest if the Nominator or Nominee has any reason believe that doing so will jeopardize the Nominator or Nominee’s ability to compete in amateur athletics—in particular whether accepting a prize would potentially put the potential Nominator in jeopardy of violating any name-image-likeness laws or rules. If a Nominator or Nominee declines a prize on this basis, the corresponding Nominator/Nominee will not receive a prize either, and Sponsor may select an alternate winner (the non-winning Nomination with the next highest score) if time permits.

Two Grand Prizes: There will be two winning Nominations, so two winning Nominees and the Nominators who nominated them will each receive a Wahl Pro Series clipper and a $1,000 general use prepaid card, that is intended (but not required) to be used for a college scholarship.

Total ARV of all prizes: $4,239.96.

Only the stated number of prizes in these Official Rules will be awarded. All expenses not specified herein are the responsibility of the winners. If an inadequate number of qualified winning Nominations are received to award the prizes or some of the prizes, Sponsor reserves the right to award fewer than the number of prizes stated above.

All federal, state, and/or local taxes (including income taxes), duties, and the like, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winners will be issued an IRS 1099 form for the value of the prize. No substitution, assignment, redemption for cash, or transfer of any prizes permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if an offered prize becomes unavailable. Actual value of prizes may vary based on consumer electronic industry fluctuations. Winner will not receive difference between actual and approximate retail value. Cards subject to terms and conditions thereon.

Allow eight to 10 weeks for shipment of all prizes. Sponsor will not be held responsible for any delays in awarding any prize for any reason outside of their control. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion. A prize will be delivered only to a verified winner.

By claiming a prize, winning Nominators and Nominees will be required to agree to confirm that consent in writing upon request, to Sponsor and those acting pursuant to the authority of Sponsor, the right, in perpetuity, to the use of his name, voice, picture, image and/or likeness (and notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these Official Rules) in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide, including on the Internet and World Wide Web, for advertising, commercial, trade and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law, and without notice, review or approval. Tennessee residents need not so consent. Nominator agrees that submissions are gratuitous, unsolicited and without restriction, and will not place Sponsor under any obligation, and that Sponsor is free to disclose the ideas contained therein on a non-confidential basis to anyone or otherwise use the ideas without restriction and without any additional compensation to Nominator. Nominator acknowledges that, by acceptance of the Nomination, Sponsor does not waive any rights to use similar or related ideas from any source. Any waiver of any obligation hereunder by Sponsor does not constitute a general waiver of any obligation to Nominator. By submitting a Nomination, Nominator acknowledges that Sponsor has no obligation to use or post any Essay submitted and further agrees he will not post or publicly make any disparaging or negative comments about Sponsor or its parent, affiliates, or subsidiaries, or any of their products on any web site or in any other type of media. If a dispute arises regarding compliance with these Official Rules, Sponsor may consider, in its sole discretion, data reasonably available to Sponsor through information technology systems in Sponsor’s control, but Sponsor will not be obligated to consider any data or other information collected from any other source. Any failure by Sponsor to enforce any of these Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of such Official Rules. If there is a conflict between any term of these Official Rules and any marketing or other materials used in connection with the Contest, the terms of these Official Rules will govern.
