Contest Rules: '77 Second Shopping Spree - Peninsula Co-op Food Centre

1. How to enter:

The contest starts on August 12th, 2024 and closes on September 1st, 2024 (the “Contest Closing Date”).  

1.1 Online entry:

• Enter your email and upload a photo of your receipt from any purchase made at Peninsula Co-op Food Centre between August 12th, 2024 and September 1st, 2024 to the online entry form: bit.ly/77spree
• Limited to one entry per day.

1.2 No purchase necessary : 

• To enter the contest without making a purchase, handwrite your complete name, mailing address, email and phone number, with a brief paragraph explaining what you like about shopping at Peninsula Co-op Food Centre. Please submit your entry in a sealed envelope at our customer service desk by September 1st, 2024. Each sealed envelope counts as one entry. One entry per day. Entries must be complete to be eligible.

1.3 Your entry into a Contest could be refused or rejected if: 

1. You attempt to enter the Contest in an unauthorized fashion; 
2. Your entry contains false or misleading information, or is late, falsified, illegible, damaged or incomplete or otherwise irregular;
3. You enter more than once per reciept
4. Your entry is submitted using robotic, automated, programmed, or other illicit means; or 
5. Your entry is not in compliance with our General Contest Rules. In addition, Peninsula Co-op reserves the right to refuse any entry for any other reason as it may determine. 

2. Products:

Any purchase made within Peninsula Co-op Food Centre is eligible for this promotion, except for tobacco, lottery, prescriptions, gift cards and stamps. 

3. Prize:

One (1) grand prize is available to be won, consisting of a 77-second shopping spree at Peninsula Co-op Food Centre. A waiver will be required to be signed before the awarding of the prize.

3.1 Prize conditions:

• Shopping spree date will be determined with winner, Food Centre Manager and Peninsula Co-op Marketing, the week of September 9, 2024, before the store opens (7:00 am).
• Limit of 6 fresh meat items (Chicken, Beef, Pork, Seafood)
• Only two (2) of a like kind. For instance, two cans of spaghetti sauce, two bags of dog food, two jugs of milk etc. If more than two (2) are taken, those items will be excluded from the total received. 
• The winner will shop alone and not receive any assistance from any other person including Co-op employees.
• Winner agrees to have their name and likeness used by Co-op for advertising and promotional purposes
• No items from the shopping spree may be returned or exchanged for any reason. Items are not available for cash value.
• A 30-second notice and 10-second notice/countdown will be announced.
• Any items that fall out of the cart, will not be included in the prize.
• Any items that fall out of the cart, will not be included in the prize. 
• The winner is permitted to tour the store before the spree. Only one shopping cart can be filled at a time. Should the cart become full, the spree participant must return to the front of the store to retrieve another empty cart. 
• Prizes must be accepted as awarded, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or substituted, except at the Sponsor's discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable.

3.2 Prize Selection and Notification: 

• The prize winner will be selected through a random drawing from all eligible entries received during each Contest Period. The selected winner will be notified via the contact information provided at the time of entry. 
• The winner must respond within seven (7) days to claim their prize. Failure to respond within this period may result in forfeiture of the prize, and an alternate winner may be selected. If the prize remains unclaimed after an attempt has been made to award it to the alternate winner, the Sponsor retains the discretion not to award the prize.

3.3 Publicity Material:

If you are a winner, Peninsula Co-op may require you to appear in publicity related to the Contest. By accepting the prize: 

• You grant to Peninsula Co-op the irrevocable right to record, photograph or otherwise capture or document you, your likeness, your voice, or any statements you make regarding the Contest or the prize, by any available means; 
• You agree that any such captured material, together with your biographical information, such as name or place of residence, or your Entry Material (collectively, all such materials, the "Publicity Material"), may be used by Peninsula Co-op or their respective licensees, successors, or assigns (collectively, the "Publicity Parties") in any media, whether now known or later devised, worldwide and in perpetuity, for advertising or promotional purposes related to the Contest or any similar contest.  Any such use of the Publicity Material may include the reproduction, modification, adaptation, translation or creation of derivative works from your Entry Material; 
• You acknowledge that the Publicity Parties shall not be required to compensate you, notify you, or request your permission in connection with their use of any Publicity Material, unless otherwise prohibited by law; and 
• You waive any rights that you may have or that may otherwise exist in connection with any use of the Publicity Material by any of the Publicity Parties, including any moral rights in any such Publicity Material. 

4. Eligibility:

To enter the Contest and be eligible to win the prize in the Contest, a person must be a resident of Vancouver Island and be over the age of 19 years at the time of the Contest Start Date. Not Eligible:

• Residents outside of Vancouver Island are not eligible to enter the Contest.
• The Sponsor’s employees and the Sponsor’s Board of Director as well as the immediate family* and those domiciled with the Sponsor’s employees and Board of Directors are not eligible to participate in the Contest or win prizes in the Contest.

5. Limits of Responsibility: 

By entering this contest, the winner acknowledges and agrees that Peninsula Co-op, their respective affiliates, agencies, and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents shall have no liability and the contest winner hereby agrees to release them and hold them harmless from any liability arising from or relating to this contest or the awarding or use of the prize. By entering this contest, you consent to the Contest Sponsor and/or their respective affiliates using the personal information submitted with your entry for the purpose of administering this Contest and for the purposes of contacting you in the future regarding their other promotions and product and/or service offerings, and our information may be shared among the Contest Sponsors and their respective affiliated companies for these purposes, subject to compliance with applicable privacy legislation.  

 

6. Privacy:

Peninsula Co-op, respects your right to privacy. Personal information collected is not sold, rented, or loaned to any third parties. 
Peninsula Co-op will handle personal information in accordance with its privacy policies and practices, which can be accessed by contacting Peninsula Co-op Administrative Office and in accordance with applicable laws. By completing and submitting a Contest entry form you consent to the collection use and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes stated herein.

 

 

Peninsula Co-op may cancel, modify, or suspend any Contest or amend our Contest Rules for any reason whatsoever.  For example, if for any reason a Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, Peninsula Co-op may adjust any of the dates, timeframes or other Contest mechanics, or suspend or cancel the Contest.
