Acceptance of Terms
General
- Panasonic New Zealand and its associated agencies and companies and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents, shall not be liable for any loss or damage, including for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with an entrant’s participation in the promotion or the receipt or use of any part of any prize, except for any loss or damage which is due to the negligence or wilful misconduct of the promoter or which otherwise cannot be excluded by law.
- The promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Instagram. By entering and participating each entrant agrees to hold harmless and release Facebook from and against any and all claims, demands, liability, losses costs or expenses with respect to and arising out of or related to the entrant’s participation in i) the promotion or ii) any prize related activities, acceptance of a prize and/or use or misuse of a prize.
- We reserve the right, in our sole discretion and at any time, to replace or amend these Terms or to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the competition.
- For convenience, these Terms have been grouped under different headings, but the headings do not affect the meaning of these Terms.
The promoter
- The promoter is Panasonic New Zealand Limited ("Panasonic New Zealand", "we", "us", "our"). Technics is a brand of Panasonic and any reference to Panasonic is a reference to the Technics brand
- Information produced by us such as the relevant times and dates, how to enter the competition and prizes for the competition forms part of these terms and conditions (as amended from time to time). By entering the competition, you are indicating your agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions (Terms).
Event period
- Competition Opens: 1:00pm NZST, Wednesday 14th October 2020.
- Video Uploads Close: 11:59pm NZST, Sunday 22nd November 2020.
- Public Voting: 1:00pm NZST, Wednesday 14th October 2020–11:59pm NZST, Sunday 22nd November 2020.
- Judges Voting Round: Monday 23rd November 2020 – 11:59pm NZST, Thursday 26th November 2020.
- Grand Final Winner Announced: 3:00pm NZST, Friday 27th November 2020.
Entry Criteria
- This competition is FREE to enter.
- Public voting is FREE.
- Film duration is a maximum of one minute (60 seconds).
- DJs can enter up to three times and each entry must be an original composition.
- There will be no limitations on the equipment the DJs wish to use in their performance.
- Anyone living in and with a residential NZ address can enter.
- Entries that are incomplete or do not abide by these rules may be disqualified at the sole discretion of Panasonic New Zealand.
- A video entry must not contain nudity, pornography or sexually explicit visual content. The video will be removed if it contains content of this nature.
- Free speech is welcomed and everyone has a right to express their point of view. We do not condone hate speech (attacking or demeaning a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age and sexual orientation/gender identity).
- Videos can be removed without notice if their content is deemed to be inappropriate to the spirit of the competition.
- Video editing is not accepted. (DJs cannot edit two or more different performances into one set). There are no restrictions on creative film presentation ie multi camera angles, blue screen techniques, video back-drop, they are all permitted BUT THE DJ must submit a non stop 1 minute performance.
- The performing DJ must be in camera shot at all times.
- In the interest of fair play and keeping the playing field level, incentives for voting (such as offering prizes or setting up competitions to promote votes) are disallowed. If you are found to be promoting your video in such a way then it will be removed from the competition.
- Entries must include New Zealand music. For the purposes of this competition, artist 'Alix Perez' is deemed to be 'Kiwi Music' following his relocation to NZ & current residency, therefore is acceptable for this competition.
Event structure
- The event structure of the Technics NZ Red Bull BC One 2020 Competition will commence with contestants uploading their filmed one minute performance followed by public voting which will deliver a public top 10. The judges will then review this top 10 as well as their chosen Wild card to deliver a 1st place.
- The judges will be DJ K Swizz, DJ Reminise, as well as a representative from the Rockshop, Mix Foundation and Technics. They will judge entries based on originality and skills (Mixing, Technical ability & Showmanship).
- Should there not be enough public votes by the conclsuion of the competition, the judges will decide on the top entries.
- Panasonic retains rights to change and alter the rules of the contest whereby and when, in their opinion, it is in the interest of the events credibility and competition fairness.
Prizes
- The People’s Choice who gets the most votes, will receive a set of EAH-DJ1200EK headphones and the winner, selected by our judges will receive (2x) brand new SL-1210MK7RB Redbull Limited Edition Turntables
- The prizes are as stated in the relevant Facebook or Instagram post for each competition. The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Prizes are subject to availability and the promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. The winner of a prize is responsible for any tax or other costs arising in relation to, or associated with, the prize.
- The prize will be sent to a New Zealand residential address provided by the winner.
- Panasonic New Zealand does not assume any responsibility for any product offered as prizes in any competition and under no circumstances shall the inclusion of any product or service in the competition be construed as an endorsement or recommendation of such product or service by the provider.
- Except for warranties and conditions implied by law which cannot be excluded, the promoter makes no representations or warranties express or implied, regarding the quality or suitability of any awarded prizes.
