#Dickens SweepstakesOFFICIAL RULES

 

1.                  NO PURCHASENECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN.  A PURCHASEWILL NOT INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING. SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND MUNICIPAL LAWS ANDREGULATIONS.  VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

 

2.                  Eligibility.  Subject to the additional restrictions below,the “KGW & #dickens sweepstakes” (the “Sweepstakes”) is open to all legalU.S. residents of the State of Oregon and residents of the following countiesin the State of Washington: Wahkiakum, Pacific, Clark, Skamania, Cowlitz, Yakima, Lewis, Thurston,Klickitat, or Pierce who are 13 years or older at the time ofentry.  Employees and contractors ofKGW-TV (the “Sponsor”), TEGNA Inc., PortlandCenter Stage, and each of their respective affiliated companies, andadvertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of, andany persons domiciled with, any such employees or contractors, are not eligibleto enter or to win.  

 

3.                  How To Enter.  The Sweepstakes will begin at 12:01 a.m. (P.T.) on Monday, December 7,2015 and end at 11:59 p.m. (P.T.) on Sunday, December 20, 2015 (the“Sweepstakes Period”).  

Twitter andInstagram Entry: Enter by posting an original photograph that demonstratesthat holiday spirit via a Tweet or Instagram post that includes the hashtag in#dickens. Each photo submission must be an authentic, original photograph, andthe entrant must own the copyright in the photograph submitted.  Photograph may not have been publishedpreviously and no professional photographs will be accepted. All digitalentries should be at the highest resolution possible.  Photos may display only one landscape.  Sponsor will accept the formats of jpeg ortiff. Sponsor reserves the rights to refuse any photograph it determines to beobscene, offensive, unacceptable or inappropriate, and any photo depictingfrontal nudity or photographs that do not feature a landscape will beineligible and withdrawn.  Sponsorfurther reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is alleged to infringeon any third-party’s intellectual property rights.  Images must not have been digitally alteredin anyway other than necessary cropping.  Entrants certify that any individuals of any age shown in photographsfurnished, and the parents and/or legal guardians of any children shown in anysubmitted photographs have been informed that their, or their child’s,photograph has been entered in this Sweepstakes and have no objection toentrant’s submission and Sponsor’s display and posting of such photograph forpurposes of this Sweepstakes. Sponsor has the right to edit, adapt, modify,reproduce, publish, promote, broadcast, or otherwise display or use thesubmitted photographs in any way it deems fit and without limitation orcompensation to entrants.  

Facebook Entry:  Enter by visiting KGW-TV Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/KGWTV8. Click on the Sweepstakes tab andcomplete all of the required information on the online entry and submit toreceive one (1) entry. Each Facebook entry must include a photograph that meetsthe requirements described above.  

 

Your computer must accept cookies, or any successor orsimilar technology, which may be used for the purpose of entry tracking. Adblocking software on your computer needs to be disabled so that it doesn’tinterfere with processing your entry. 

 

Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same emailaddress or Facebook ID. 

 

By entering, you agree to the terms of these Official Rulesand to receive e-mails from Sponsor or those directed by Sponsor.  You can opt-out of the receipt of such e-mailsby following the directions on the Sponsor’s website or in any email receivedfrom Sponsor.

Sponsor will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late,misdirected or illegible entries, or for failure to receive entries due totransmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, withoutlimitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whetheroriginating with sender or Sponsor. Entrants will be charged standard messaging rates for text messages sentand received from their handset according to the terms and conditions in theirwireless calling plan. Text messaging and wireless service are not available inall areas.  All entries become propertyof Sponsor and none will be returned.  

No maximum entry per person per calendar day of theSweepstakes Period, regardless of the method of entry.   

Grand Prize Drawing: All entries must be received by 11:59p.m. (P.T.) on Sunday, December 20, 2015.

4.                  Winner Selection.   One (1) GrandPrize Winner will be selected on Monday, December 21, 2015 from among alleligible entries received during the “Sweepstakes Period”.  

 

 

5.                  Prizes and Odds. Grand prize includes tentickets to a VIP showing of Twist Your Dickens at Portland Center Stage(ARV:  $700).  

 

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entriesreceived.  

 

6.                  Winner Notification and Acceptance.  Grand Prize Winner will be notified on orabout December 21, 2015. Instagram and Twitter entrants will be notified with areply to the approved Tweet or Instagram photo entered into theSweepstakes.  Facebook entrants will benotified at the email addressprovided on winner’s entry form. Winners must respond to such notificationwithin 24 hours.  Failure to respondwithin such time period or return of email prize notification as undeliverablemay result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected fromamong all remaining eligible entries. To claim prize, Winner must visit KGW’soffices at 1501 S.W. Jefferson St., Portland, OR (office visits must be betweenthe hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays). Valid photo identification may be required.  Winners may waive their right to receiveprizes.  Prizes are nonassignable andnon-transferable.  No substitutionsallowed by winner.  Prizes are notredeemable for cash.  Prizes andindividual components of prize packages are subject to availability and Sponsorreserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.  Winners are solely responsible for reportingand payment of any taxes on prizes. Winners may be required to complete an affidavit ofeligibility/liability and publicity release which must be returned asinstructed by Sponsor.  Failure to signand return the affidavit or release, or to comply with any term or condition ofthese Official Rules, may result in a winner’s disqualification, the forfeitureof his or her interest in the prize, and the award of the prize to a substitutewinner.  Except where prohibited,acceptance of any prize constitutes winner’s consent to the publication of hisor her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for anycommercial or promotional purpose, without limitation the Internet, or furthercompensation.  Prizes not won and claimedby eligible winners in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awardedand will remain the property of Sponsor.  

                 

7.                  Participation.  By participating, entrants agree to be boundby these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor.  Sponsor reserves the right to disqualifypersons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of thisSweepstakes as solely determined by Sponsor. In the event the Sweepstakes is compromised by a virus, non-authorized human intervention, tampering or othercauses beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupts or impairs theadministration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Sweepstakes,Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify orterminate the Sweepstakes.  Should theSweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Sponsor reservesthe right to award prizes based on the entries received before the terminationdate.  Sponsor will not be responsiblefor incomplete, lost, late, misdirectedor illegible entries, or for failure to receive entries or other electroniccommunications due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind,including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware orsoftware, whether originating with sender or Sponsor.  In the event of a dispute, all online entrieswill be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the ISP account fromwhich they were sent.  For thesepurposes, an ISP account holder shall mean the natural person assigned to suchISP account by the Internet access provider, online service provider or otherorganization responsible for assigning ISP addresses for the domain associatedwith such ISP account.  Any questionsregarding the number of entries submitted by the owner of an ISP account shallbe determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. By participating in thisSweepstakes, each entrant agrees to fully release, forever discharge and holdharmless Sponsor, Portland Center Stage, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram fromand against all claims, costs, liabilities, losses, injuries, and damagesarising out of the Sweepstakes, including, but not limited to, any claims forpersonal injury, death or damage to or loss of property or any other harmarising out of entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes, the receipt, use, ormisuse of any prize, or any travel or activity that is related to theSweepstakes or any prize. This Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed oradministered by, or associated with Facebook. 

8.                  Copyright. By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant grants to Sponsor anexclusive, royalty-free and irrevocable right and license to publish, print,edit or otherwise use the entrant’s submitted entry, in whole or in part, forany purpose and in any manner or media (including, without limitation, theInternet) throughout the world in perpetuity, and to license others to do so,all without limitation or further compensation. Each entrant further agrees that if his/her entry is selected by Sponsoras the winning entry, he/she will sign any additional license or release thatSponsor may require, and will not publicly perform or display his or hersubmission without the express permission of Sponsor.

 

8.                  Construction. The invalidity orunenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validityor enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid orotherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance withtheir terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not containedtherein.

 

9.                  Sponsor.  The #Dickens Sweepstakes is sponsored by KGW. The decisions of Sponsorregarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of the Sweepstakesshall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsor will not be responsible for typographical, printing or otherinadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials relating tothe Sweepstakes.
