Terms and Conditions

  1. No purchase necessary.
  2. The competition is organised by Marsh Commercial, 1 Tower Place West, London EC3R 5BU.
  3. Marsh Commercial reserves the right to change the dates or withdraw the Award, details of any changes will be published on the Marsh Commercial website.
  4. Marsh Commercial reserves the right to change the competition Terms and Conditions.
  5. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and as such shall be the courts of exclusive jurisdiction.
  6. Marsh Commercial accepts no responsibility in respect of any losses, liabilities, costs, claims, damages and demands suffered in connection with your conduct in anyway whatsoever with the For the People Awards.

Entrants

  1. Enter as directed on the Marsh Commercial website and/or Woobox white labelled competition site.
  2. Individual entrants must be UK residents and aged 18.
  3. Should an entrant be found to be less than 18 years of age or not a qualifying business under the criteria detailed below, the entry will be disqualified and removed from the competition.
  4. The competition is only open to UK businesses.
  5. Entrants must submit their own three minute (or less) video and cannot submit entries on behalf of another entrant.
  6. Videos can be less than but not exceed three minutes.
  7. Videos must be MP4 or MOV file format and no bigger than 2GB.
  8. Entrants are encouraged to share their entry using the link provided by Marsh Commercial with those eligible to vote.
  9. Marsh Commercial cannot be held responsible or liable for any problems with your entry including theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries, or entries lost, incomplete as a result of server failures, virus, bugs or other causes outside its control.  Proof of entry is not proof of delivery or receipt.  Only entries received in accordance with these Terms will be acceptable.
  10. Only one entry per person/business. Proof of ID might be required before the prize is awarded.
  11. For each qualifying video entry received, a £10.00 donation will be made to Ambitious about Autism (registered charity 1063184) by Marsh Commercial.
  12. This competition is not open to employees of Marsh Commercial or Marsh & McLennan group of companies.
  13. All videos need to be submitted by 17 October 12.00 pm (midday) 2021. Once your entry is submitted the videos will be checked to ensure they meet all entry criteria before being uploaded to the competition page on the Marsh Commercial website. Videos will be uploaded on 25 October 2021 when voting will be opened.
  14. All entries will be vetted internally prior to being uploaded by Marsh Commercial to ensure that;
  1. When assessing an entrant which may breach any item of the above terms, Marsh Commercial’s decision is final.
  2. By entering the competition you are allowing Marsh Commercial and the judges (and their associated organisations) to share your entry on social media and use it as they see fit for publicity purposes.
  3. This competition is being hosted via a third party platform Woobox. By entering this competition you are submitting your entry form and video via the Woobox platform. The Woobox platform will receive your entry and share it with Marsh Commercial for validation. Once validated your video will be hosted on the Woobox platform to allow us to measure and monitor votes and determine our shortlist.   4. By entering the competition, you are confirming all the information you submit is accurate. Only entries uploaded via the third party platform Woobox will be eligible.
  5. Marsh Commercial will supply you with an email and a link the Woobox platform so you can encourage votes.
  6. By entering this competition you are giving Marsh Commercial permission to contact you. Any data you give Marsh Commercial will be held and used in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
  7. Upon entering the awards you will have the option to select whether you could benefit from a team of volunteers (maximum of ten people) providing their services for a day to assist the charity / Community Interest Company with a specific project / task.  An insurer partner will provide the team of volunteers. Entry details and the volunteer request will be sent to the insurer partner, [Arch Insurance], and the day and task to be completed will be arranged directly between the entrant and the insurer. Volunteer days will be available to shortlisted entrants only (if they have requested a volunteer day as part of their entry). A maximum of 10 volunteer days will be available, one per shortlisted charity / community interest company. Marsh Commercial colleagues may also attend the volunteer day to provide extra support to the charity / community interest company although this is not guaranteed and depends on location and staff availability. The charity / community interest company will be notified if Marsh Commercial colleagues are attending.
  8. By entering the competition you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Voting

  1. Voting can only be made online using the channel provided.
  2. Voters must be 18 years of age or older.
  3. Voters can only vote once.
  4. Voting can only take place between 9:00am 25 October 2021 to 12:00pm (midday) 25 November 2021.
  5. Marsh Commercial cannot be held responsible or liable for any problems with your vote including theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries, or entries lost, incomplete as a result of server failures, virus, bugs or other causes outside its control.
  6. Proof of vote is not proof of delivery or receipt.
  7. By voting you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

The winner

  1. The winner will be decided by a public vote to select an initial shortlist and then judged following a presentation to an expert panel.
  2. The winner will be notified by email or phone on 8 December 2021. The winner must respond to Marsh Commercial within 10 days, in the event of undeliverable emails or failure to respond within the required timescale, Marsh Commercial reserves the right to reallocate the prize to the runner up in that category.  If the winner declines the prize, again Marsh Commercial may choose to award the prize to the runner up in that category. 
  3. By taking part in the competition you are agreeing that should you win you will take part in any future publicity with Marsh Commercial and the judges (and their associated companies), filming, blog writing, adverts etc.  And Marsh Commercial (and its associated companies) may use your name and your company name in its advertising. 

 

The prize

Business winner 

  1. The prize is for one business to win £10,000 to invest in their community via a UK registered charity or community interest company.
  2. Where the prize is to be donated to a charity it must be a single registered charity nominated by the winner that meets the conditions below:
    1. Must be a United Kingdom and Ireland registered charity.
    2. Must not be a political or religious organisation.
    3. Must pass our sanctions screening process. 
  3. Where the prize is to be donated to a Community Interest Company nominated by the winner it must meet the conditions below:
    1. Must be a United Kingdom and Ireland registered Community Interest Company
    2. Must not be a political or religious organisation
    3. The sole use of the business must be a Community Interest Company
    4. Must pass our sanctions screening process and undergo verification checks carried out by the Charities Aid Foundation. If this is not passed, Marsh Commercial reserve the right to withdraw the prize offer. 
  4. If you are unsure as to whether your nominated charity or Community Interest Company qualifies please contact us via FTPAwards@marshcommercial.co.uk.
  5. Prizes cannot be claimed outside of the UK. 
  6. You must provide us with details of the charity’s / community interest company’s UK bank account in order for us to pay, in the event of you winning.
  7. The prize cannot be awarded to or claimed by a third party on the charity’s behalf.

Individual winner
