Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN                                 

“The Maple Guild’s Maple It Contest” (the “Contest”) begins on August 21, 2017 at 12:00 AM Eastern Time (“EST”) and ends on December 5, 2017 at 11:59 PM EST (“Entry Period”). Users can enter unlimited times per day during the Entry Period.

ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty states of the United States and the District of Columbia. Employees of The Maple Guild, related partners, Streetsense and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, and members of their immediate family (spouse and parent, children and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, of such employees, are not eligible to win. Void where prohibited by law. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Facebook.

HOW TO ENTER: No purchase necessary to enter or win. During the Entry Period, entrants will be asked to share their maple-infused recipe in their selected entry category through one of the following portals: Facebook, Instagram, maple guild contest page. All entries on Facebook and Instagram must tag @themapleguild, utilize the hashtags of: #MapleItContest and #MapleItBBQ, #MapleItLiquor, or #MapleItBaked based on which category they are entering into. All entries must be received by 11:59PM EST on December 5, 2017 to be eligible. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and conditional agreement to these official contest rules (the “Official Rules”).

BUY ONE, GET ONE PROMOTION: Participants in the contest are eligible to receive a discount code for a “buy one, get one” discount code upon submitting a recipe. Each code is only usable by each email address one time. Participants can utilize discount codes posted by select The Maple Guild partners once per email address.

FINALIST SELECTION: Five (5) finalists will be selected by each category (BBQ, Liquor, Baked Goods) partner on December 10, 2017 from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Entries will be judged based on a criteria of creativity and integration of maple products. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Prizes and dates are subject to change by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

WINNER SELECTION: All fifteen finalists will be posted to (The Maple It Contest splash page) for a public vote. The recipes with the most votes in each category by 11:59 PM EST on December 18, 2017 is the winner.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest. Potential winners may be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release and, where lawful, a publicity release within the time specified by Sponsor. If such documents are not returned within the specified time period, Sponsor is unable to contact a potential winner within a reasonable time period, prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or a potential winner is not in compliance with these Official Rules, prize will be forfeited and, at Sponsor’s discretion, an alternate may be notified for the applicable drawing(s). If any potential winner is at least 18 but still considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, prize will be awarded in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian, and such parent or legal guardian will be required to fulfill all requirements imposed on winners set forth herein.


One (1) winner will receive a one year supply (in quarterly shipments) of The Maple Guild maple products and have a version of their recipe printed in a future maple recipe book produced by The Maple Guild. The timing and number of maple products will be decided in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. The timing of the recipe book is to be decided in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. The Prize is non-transferable, assignable, is not for resale and cannot be redeemed for cash. By accepting a Prize, a prize winner acknowledges compliance with these Official Rules.

Winner of each category will also receive a prize to be determined by each category’s partner.

GENERAL: By participating, each entrant agrees: (a) to abide by these Official Rules and decisions of Sponsor and judges, which shall be final in all respects relating to this Contest; (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless The Maple Guild, Facebook, Streetsense and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any awarded prize; In the event of a dispute regarding entries received from multiple users having the same Facebook, Instagram or Twitter account, the authorized subscriber of the account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant and must comply with these Official Rules. Authorized account subscriber is the natural person who is assigned the account by the social media channel. Released Parties are not responsible for misdirected or undeliverable Facebook updates or for any technical problems, malfunctions of any telephone lines, computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof.

Released Parties are not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, undeliverable, destroyed, or garbled entries or tweets; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether typographical, human mechanical, electronic, computer, network, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing of entries or tweets, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to participants' or to any other person's mobile device related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading materials from or use of the website. Sponsor may disqualify anyone from participating in the Contest or winning the Prize (and void all associated entries or tweets) if, in its sole discretion, it determines that such person is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, deception or other unfair playing practices, or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant or Sponsor’s representatives. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend any portion of the Contest for any reason, including should any cause corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Contest and, in the event of termination, to determine the winner(s) for the drawing(s) at issue from among all eligible entries or tweets received up to such time for the applicable drawing(s) using the winner determination procedure outlined above.

ARBITRATION: Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participating in this Contest, participant agrees that (1) any and all disputes and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by final and binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association and held at the AAA regional office nearest the participant; (2) the Federal Arbitration Act shall govern the interpretation, enforcement and all proceedings at such arbitration; and (3) judgment upon such arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. Under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorneys' fees, other than participant's actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e., costs associated with participating in this Contest), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

CHOICE OF LAW: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of participant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the substantive laws of Vermont.
