ALUMNI RECONNECT CONTEST 2019 – Official Rules

1. Eligibility

This contest is open only to graduates of College of the North Atlantic (“CNA”) Newfoundland and Labrador (including online learning and its predecessor institutions). All staff from the Alumni and Advancement, and Marketing and Communications departments of CNA are excluded, as is anyone living in the same household. 


2. Entry

Contest entries will only be accepted online by filling out the form available at https://woobox.com/o7srvj. This contest runs from 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2019 until 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2018. Submissions will be accepted for the duration of the contest period only. No purchase necessary to enter or win. All those entering the contest must complete the Alumni Reconnect 2018 Contest Form for successful submission into the Grand Prize draw. All entries become the property of CNA and will not be acknowledged or returned. CNA is not responsible for any lost, delayed, incomplete or misdirected entries, nor for any malfunction of the electronic entry form. Entries may be disqualified if they provide information that is incomplete, inaccurate or misleading, or if they fail to comply with, or attempt to circumvent, these Rules.

 
3. Grand Prize

The single Grand Prize is brought to you by CNA, through its partnership with TD Insurance Meloche Monnex and Marlene Smith – Travel Professionals International (TPI), and consists of one Travel Voucher Certificate purchased from TPI. Maximum value of the Travel Voucher Certificate is $10,000 (CAD). Please note that any costs incurred beyond the value of the prize will be the responsibility of the winner. The actual package booked by the Grand Prize winner is subject to availability at the time of booking and certain date restrictions will apply. The Grand Prize winner will work directly with Marlene Smith at TPI on the specific detailed travel itinerary. Options may vary. Blackout dates apply. 


4. Prize Terms and Conditions

To ensure you have the vacation of your dreams, please consider booking your vacation as soon as possible to secure desired travel dates. Please note: once a booking is confirmed, standard Terms and Conditions, fees and any other supplier fees and surcharges, where applicable, will apply for any amendments or cancellation of booking.  The Winner will abide by terms are conditions of the supplier for each components of trip booked.
The Travel Voucher Certificate has no cash value, cannot be redeemed for cash or sold,

is non-transferable or non-refundable, and prize is subject to availability. Once redeemed, the travel voucher has no residual value and no monies will be refunded. The certificate allows for a single vacation travel opportunity only, and cannot be used for booking more than one trip. This prize does not include any items of a personal nature. All travel identification (i.e. passport/visa) that may be required is the winner’s responsibility, and must be obtained prior to departure.

The travel voucher must be redeemed within one year. Travel must be completed by April 2, 2020.

TPI strongly recommends the purchase of applicable travel and/or medical insurance. This contest is void where prohibited by law.


5. Grand Prize Draw

One entry will be randomly drawn on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from among all eligible entries received. The Winner will be notified by the email and/or phone number provided at the time of entry. The random draw will be video recorded and shared through social media channels. Chances of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The selected entrant must agree to accept the Grand Prize as established by these Rules, or further random draws will be held until a winner is determined. If the selected entrant cannot be contacted using the information provided on the entry email, within a reasonable time (as determined by CNA), they will be deemed to have refused to agree to accept the Grand Prize as established by these Rules. Upon verification by CNA of full compliance with these Rules, which may require the selected winner to provide proof of graduation from CNA or one of its predecessor institutions, the selected entrant will be declared the winner.


6. Publicity

By accepting a prize, the Winner grants CNA permission to announce their name as the Winner and to use their name and/or photographs and videos for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.


7. Facebook Contest

This contest promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook. You are providing your information to CNA and not Facebook. Facebook is completely released of all liability from each entrant in this contest. Any questions, comments, or complaints regarding the contest must be directed to CNA and not Facebook. The information you provide will only be used for contest administration.


8. Limitation of Liability

By entering this contest, entrants agree that CNA (including its stakeholders, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents) will not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising from, or in connection with, this contest or any prize won. This contest is subject to all federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations applicable in Canada. This contest is void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. Residents of Quebec: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (“RACJ”) for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the RACJ only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement. For all other entrants, any litigation must be initiated in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. 


9. Privacy

CNA is an educational public body of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. CNA is, therefore, subject to the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act, 2015 (ATIPPA). CNA is collecting your personal information for the purpose of accepting your entry into this contest. This information may be used as part of our Alumni engagement initiatives. This personal information is collected under the authority of the College Act, 1996. All personal information will be stored in accordance with our normal network and information security measures.
