ROCKLISCIOUS BATTLE OF THE BANDS
Official Rules, Regulations and Judging Criteria
September 1, The Kelsey Theater
Submission Criteria. Bands must submit their group for consideration, along with the band’s basic information, including video, audio and social media links, only by completing an online submission form at http://www.rockliscious.com. Band submissions are open June 1 to July 1, 2018.
Bands that are currently scheduled to play at the Kelsey Theater during the months of August and September 2018 are not eligible to enter.
Bands must be comprised of at least 3 members, but no more than 8.
Bands must have a female-lead
Original music encouraged, but not required.
Genre categories include Rock, Pop, R&B and Country
Band member submitting on behalf of his/her group must agree to the terms, rules, regulations before submitting, of which all band members must abide.
Bands must have the September 1, 2018 date available on their schedule, and keep it open if they are selected for fan voting.
Online Voting. Once submission is completed, approved bands will be posted online for fan voting at http://www.rockliscious.com and https://www.facebook.com/rockliscious/. This is not an automated process, so please give our team time to review submissions. Your band will be notified if the submission is approved. Online voting will end on July 29, 2018. Decisions of JGE Productions (JGE) and The Kelsey Theater (TKT) in all matters relating to this contest, shall be final and binding upon all participants. JGE and TKT reserve the right to disqualify any contestant or band if it finds any contestant or band to be tampering with the entry process or operation of the website(s), or otherwise disrupting the contest in any manner.
Final Four Selection. Four (4) bands will be selected and announced by August 6, 2018 to play at the live show on September 1, 2018. Selection will be based on the number of fan votes, completeness of contest entry and profile, availability, and recommendations from JGE and TKT.
September 1 Live Show Rules
Selected bands will be required to sign a contract before being allowed to play.
Band must be prepared to play a set of 25-30 minutes in length and be ready to set up in 10 minutes or less. Timing will be strictly enforced.
JGE and TKT reserve the right to limit playing times to keep the show on schedule.
Selected bands must be present at the venue at 7pm on the night of the show.
Standard amps, microphones and necessary sound equipment will be provided and managed by TKT. Bands are not allowed to use their own sound engineer. Bands needing to bring any specialized equipment must have it approved ahead of time by TKT and JGE.
A house drum kit will be provided along with a drum tech and stage hand to assist during setup. Drummers must bring their own symbols and sticks. Foot pedal is optional.
Selected bands will be required to attend a sound check earlier on the day of the event at a time selected by JGE and TKT.
Bands must submit a set list and tech rider via email to email@example.com before August 25, 2018 for review and approval.
Bands will have use of one of two green rooms behind the stage, but must leave the green room in the same condition in which it is found.
Any distasteful behavior, and/or damage to TKT or surrounding equipment or supplies will result in an automatic disqualification from the contest.
Prizes. A $1000 cash grand prize will be awarded to the winning band, with the runner up receiving $500.
Winner Selection. Winners of the live show will be selected by fan applause with a final determination made by a panel of judges. BRING YOUR FANS TO THE SHOW. Online ticket sales will be available via Hold My Ticket and at the door. Criteria used for judging is as follows:
Music. This criteria is based on clarity, lyrical content and overall musical performance.
Stage Presence and Crowd Interaction. This Criteria is based on how well the band "rocks out" and how well the band connects with the crowd.
Appearance and Personality. This criterion is based on the overall look and personality. If you want to be a rock star, you need to look the part!
Crowd Applause. The key ingredient to rock stardom: THE FANS!
Self Promotion. All competing bands are strongly encouraged to promote spreading the word regarding the Rockliscious live event. Crowd interaction and response will be part of the judging criteria. Bands will be provided with marketing materials.
Marketing Consent. All Entrants consent to use of name, likeness, entry material in any manner by JGE, TKT, sponsors or any other promotional partners, for advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
Cancellation. JGE and TKT reserve the right to vary, amend, and alter any of the terms of the contest, including the right to withdraw the contest, at any time, and without any notice.
Remaining Legalize. By participating in the contest, each participant (and participant’s parent/legal guardian, if participant is a minor), agrees to release and hold harmless JGE and TKT from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including any travel related thereto. JGE and TKT, and any of their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors assume no responsibility for any injury or damage to participants, or participant’s property, regardless of how caused, relating to or resulting from entering or participating in this contest. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of any participant or band in connection with the contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Florida. Any dispute relating to the contest shall be brought in the 19th Judicial Circuit of Florida, sitting in Stuart, Florida. Participants hereby irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction of said court, and waive any claim of forum non conveniens or lack of personal jurisdiction they may have.
