Hosted by the Healthy Paws Foundation, Steps for Strays was a virtual walk and fundraiser event to raise donations for Northwest Animal Shelter. All were invited to join the walk, which took place on the weekend of August 22-23, 2020, and the Healthy Paws Foundation pledged to donate $5 for every registered participant, up to $30,000.

About Northeast Animal Shelter
Since establishing its “Saving Homeless Pets Across America” program in 1994, Northeast Animal Shelter has been working with rescue groups and animal shelters across the country to transport pets from overcrowded facilities. The no-kill shelter, located in Salem, MA, has saved the lives of over 140,000 cats and dogs.
Participants were encouraged to share photos along their walks using the #StepsforStrays
hashtag. We enjoyed seeing action shots from your walks, including beautiful nature pics, a
peek at your neighborhood, and of course, lots of dogs!
“Thank you to everyone who participated in Steps for Strays to support Northeast Animal Shelter. We were thrilled about the level of interest in this campaign, and we’re grateful to be able to involve folks across the country to help support homeless pets in need.”
