How It Works

You pick a winner of each fixture, thereby filling out and submitting a complete predictive bracket. Only brackets submitted through this website will be deemed valid. The deadline for submission is midnight Central US Time, April 10, 2024.

The results of each fixture will be determined via livestream dice rolling on the Crowbar Creative Discord server, though we reserve the right to change the venue if we find a better alternative (YouTube, Twitch, etc.) between now and submission deadline. In any event, the rolls will be done live and on camera, so you'll have full visibility into the process and be assured that we are operating fairly and transparently.

The live streams will take place in the following order, with exact days and times to be determined and announced by March 27.

  1. Round 1, Logres and Cornwall Regions: TBD
  2. Round 1, Gaul and Wales Regions: TBD
  3. Round 2, all Regions: TBD
  4. Sweet 16 (Round 3): TBD
  5. Elite 8 (Round 4): TBD
  6. Final 4 and Grail Championship (Rounds 5 and 6): April 28, 2026, time TBD

The updated bracket will be posted immediately following the livestream, and the ranking on your own bracket will update automatically. Scoring is progressive: correct answers on a given round are worth more points than in previous rounds.

The participant who submits the winning bracket will be awarded the original painting on vellum of the character they chose to be champion, signed by Jay Johnstone from the forthcoming board game Siege Perilous. Ties to be broken by championship score prediction.

Fixture Resolution

The dice to be used are six-sided with the following faces, in descending order of value:

  1. Crit (double swords): 1 face per die
  2. Single Sword: 2 faces per die
  3. Anvil: 2 faces per die
  4. Blank: 1 face per die

For each matchup, we'll:

  1. Roll the number of dice equal to each knight's rating (the number at the bottom-left of the character's portrait) to create the initial results pool.
  2. The knight with lower total number of swords spends Spurs, if they have any, until they have the higher total.
  3. Repeat step 2 until a winner is determined.

After a winner has been declared:

Spur (yellow tokens along the right side of characters' portraits): Use one to increase the die result of one die by one value. The player with the higher number of swords cannot choose to spend additional Spurs in order to increase their margin of victory. Spurs must be always be used to increase the value of the highest value result (i.e., if I've rolled 1 sword, 2 anvils, and 1 blank, and I need to 4 swords to beat my opponent's roll, I must first spend a spur to increase my sword to a crit, then I can spend a spur to increase an anvil to a sword, and then must spend a spur to increase that sword to a crit).

Dishonour (red tokens along the right side of characters' portraits): Villains can (and must, if possible) cancel a Spur spent by their opponent with a Dishonour. Villains have red backgrounds and they are the only characters that have Dishonour at their disposal.

Blessing (green tokens along the right side of characters' portraits): Use one to cancel a Wound.

Wound (orange tokens that will be added to the characters' portraits as needed): For every Wound a knight is carrying, they must decrease by one the number of dice rolled in step 1.

The rules dictate how and when resources are used. Those of us doing the dice rolling on the livestream will have no decisions to make, no discretion as to which resources to use or not.

In the Event of a Draw: If Step 3 results in a draw, the winner shall be the contestant:

  1. With more Crits
  2. With more single swords
  3. WIth more anvils
  4. Who used fewer Blessings
  5. Who used fewer Spurs

If a winner can still not be determined, both contestants discard all spent resources and begin again at Step 1.
