With the upcoming European elections, the European Commission is aiming to reach out to citizens who will be voting for the very first time, and raise awareness about the elections. To that end, the Commission's Directorate General for Education and Culture (DG EAC) is launching a social media competition asking first time voters to explain why they are voting with a short description and a picture.

To participate, take a photo related to the EU elections (it can be eg. a selfie, a photo of an EU labelled object, an illustration of the reason you are voting) and add a brief description explaining why you are voting for the first time.

Submit your entry by filling in the Woobox form using this link: woobox.com/927u7 (third party provider: Woobox). Then, post your photo with a few words explaining why you’re voting in the comments section, below one of the Erasmus+ or European Youth’s promotional posts on Facebook or Twitter.

Any personal data collected through Woobox may be hosted in the United States. Woobox collects, uses and discloses personal data in accordance with its privacy policy.

The competition will run from 3rd of May 2019 until 30th of May 2019. Submissions will be open from 3rd May at 09:00 CET until 23rd May 2019 at 23:59 CET. After that, a jury will select the winners who will be announced on 30th of May.

The winners will receive travel vouchers, distributed as follows:
