  • What is the grant intended for?


    The grant is intended to provide youth who aspire to play an instrument the opportunity to do so by providing stringed instruments (such as guitar, bass or ukulele) the necessary accessories and educational assets, such as Fender Play.


    What does the grant consist of?


    Grants will be issued in the form of Fender/Squier brand musical instruments and related accessories, and subscriptions to Fender Play.

     

    Who is a qualified candidate for a grant?


    In order to qualify for grant consideration in 2020, applicants must:

    ·     Be a public school or 501(c)(3) charity

    ·     Be located in the Los Angeles, Phoenix/Scottsdale, or Nashville areas

    ·     Have an existing music program in need of equipment to continue running their program. 

    ·     Be able to demonstrate the need for musical instruments gear

    ·     Have ample storage for instruments and gear

    ·     Have elements of a sustainable music instruction program, including an on-site teacher and designated, indoor instruction space

    ·     Demonstrate an appropriate need for the grant (i.e., youth who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to learn how to play a musical instrument.)

     

    When is the annual grant application time period?

     

    The application is open from October 15th through May 1st every year.


    How do I apply for the grant?


    Applications may be submitted via the online application submission form located here.


    How are grant applications evaluated and how long will it take to receive a decision?


    Grant applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the Fender Play Foundation, with special attention to those applications that satisfy the above requirements. Application review will take approximately 4-6 weeks.
