The Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championship is a contest like no other. Competitors come from all around the world to the small Scottish village of Carrbridge in the hopes of taking home the coveted Golden Spurtle.

Go into the running to win your very own Spurtle, handmade by Charlie the porridge chieftain from the documentary himself! A Scots kitchen tool from the 15th Century, it is designed for constant stirring to eliminate lumps and prevent the porridge from congealing. Traditionally you should stir clockwise to keep out the devil.
Simply purchase a ticket to any session of THE GOLDEN SPURTLE at your local Dendy Cinema, then enter your details and booking number plus answer the question below for your chance to WIN! Each ticket equals one entry, so the more times you see the film, the more chances you have to enter!

The Promoter is Dendy Cinemas Australia. Entry is open to Australian residents only. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families and the agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. The competition opens for tickets purchased from 9:00am AEST Tuesday, December 9 2025 and closes 11:59pm AEST Thursday, December 18 2025. Entrants are limited to one entry per person per ticket purchased. To enter the Promotion, eligible persons must, within the Promotional Period, purchase a ticket to see The Golden Spurtle at Dendy Newtown, Canberra, Coorparoo, Portside, Southport or Powerhouse, and then enter their full name, address, booking number, and provide a 25 words or less answer to the question on the competitions entry page. The prize winners will be notified via the email address or phone number provided upon entry. Additional information may be required in order to facilitate prize fulfilment. Ticket booking/receipt numbers will be verified and any invalid entries will be nulified. Each entry will be individually judged based on originality, literary and creative merits. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of the competition.
