Official Terms & Conditions

1. Agreement to Terms

By entering the OTTO T-Shirt Design Contest (the "Contest"), each participant (the "Artist") agrees to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions and the Official Contest Rules.

Participation in the Contest constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and the decisions of OTTO, which shall be final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest.

2. Eligibility

The Contest is open to all individuals.

Participants under the age of 18 must obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian prior to entering.

Employees of OTTO and their immediate family members may participate but are not eligible to receive prizes or be selected as the Grand Prize Winner or Fan Favorite Award recipient.

By submitting an entry, participants represent and warrant that they meet all eligibility requirements.

3. Contest Period

The Contest begins at 12:00 AM ET on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Entries will be accepted through 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

OTTO will review all eligible submissions and select finalists following the submission period.

Fan Favorite Voting is scheduled for September 7–13, 2026.

The Grand Prize Winner and Fan Favorite Award Recipient are expected to be announced on or about September 16, 2026.

OTTO reserves the right to modify contest dates if necessary.

4. Submission Requirements

Entries must be submitted through the designated contest platform.

Each participant may submit one (1) original design entry.

Submitted artwork must:

Artists are solely responsible for ensuring their submissions do not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

5. Artificial Intelligence Policy

The OTTO T-Shirt Design Contest is intended to celebrate the creativity of artists, illustrators, and designers.

Submitted artwork must be the original work of the entrant and may not include artwork generated in whole or in part using artificial intelligence image generation tools or services.

OTTO reserves the right to request sketches, drafts, layered files, or other supporting materials to verify the originality and authorship of any submission. Failure to provide requested materials may result in disqualification.

6. Finalist Selection

Following the submission period, OTTO will review all eligible entries and select up to ten (10) finalists.

Finalists will be selected based on criteria including:

OTTO reserves the right to select fewer than ten finalists if, in its sole discretion, insufficient entries meet contest standards.

OTTO may also designate alternate finalists.

7. Public Voting & Fan Favorite Award

Finalist designs will be displayed for public voting.

Public voting is intended solely to determine the Fan Favorite Award Recipient.

Public voting does not determine the Grand Prize Winner.

OTTO reserves the right to establish voting limits, verification requirements, and other procedures necessary to maintain the integrity of the voting process.

8. Voting Integrity & Fraud Prevention

Votes generated through fraudulent means are prohibited.

OTTO reserves the right to review, invalidate, remove, or disregard votes deemed suspicious or fraudulent in its sole discretion.

OTTO's determination regarding vote validity shall be final.

9. Grand Prize Winner Selection

The Grand Prize Winner will be selected by OTTO's judging panel.

Judging may consider public voting results as one factor among many, but public voting does not determine the Grand Prize Winner.

The judging panel's decision shall be final.

OTTO reserves the right not to award the Grand Prize if no submission adequately meets contest standards.

Each finalist will receive:

If the Grand Prize Winner also receives the highest number of verified public votes, that entrant shall receive both the Grand Prize and the Fan Favorite Award, along with all associated prizes and recognition.

Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash except where specifically stated.

OTTO reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.

Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes.

11. Ownership & Intellectual Property

Artists retain ownership of their submitted artwork.

By entering the Contest, participants grant OTTO a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

Non-winning entries remain the property of the artist.

12. Winning Design License

As a condition of receiving the Grand Prize, the winning artist agrees to grant OTTO an exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to reproduce, manufacture, market, distribute, and sell merchandise featuring the winning design.

The winning artist may be required to execute additional licensing documentation prior to prize fulfillment.

OTTO may collaborate with the winning artist to make reasonable production-related modifications necessary for apparel printing, including adjustments to sizing, line weight, placement, or other technical requirements. Any such modifications will preserve the overall creative intent of the design.

13. Publicity

By participating, entrants agree that OTTO may use their name, city/state, likeness, biography, and submitted artwork in connection with:

14. Artist Conduct

Participants shall not engage in harassment, threats, intimidation, or other inappropriate conduct toward:

15. Winner Notification

Potential winners will be contacted using the information provided during entry.

If a winner:

16. Privacy

Information collected in connection with the Contest may be used to:

17. Limitation of Liability

OTTO is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, corrupted, or technically impaired submissions, votes, or communications.

By participating, entrants release and hold harmless OTTO and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance of any prize.

18. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of Maine.

Any disputes arising from the Contest shall be resolved through binding arbitration conducted in Portland, Maine.

19. General Conditions

OTTO reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest, in whole or in part, if circumstances beyond its reasonable control or other unforeseen events compromise the fairness, security, integrity, or proper administration of the Contest.

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

All decisions made by OTTO regarding the Contest shall be final.
