Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. OPEN ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF THE STATES OF MINNESOTA, WISCONSIN, IOWA, NORTH DAKOTA AND SOUTH DAKOTA.
PARTICIPATION CONSTITUTES PARTICIPANT’S FULL AND UNCONDITIONAL AGREEMENT TO AND ACCEPTANCE OF THESE "OFFICIAL RULES".
I. SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY PERIOD: The Icelandair Summer Giveaway Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes” or “Promotion”) begins 12:00 a.m. Central Time (“CT”) July 8, 2021 and ends at 12:00 a.m. CT July 23, 2021 (the “Entry Period”). The computer clock of Sponsor’s web-master is the official timekeeping device for the Sweepstakes.
II. ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open only to permanent legal residents of the United States (“U.S.”) who are physically located and residing in the States of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota or South Dakota, and are eighteen (18) years of age or older at time of entry. Participants and winners must not be listed on the Department of Homeland Security’s No Fly List and must be able legally to fly internationally to Iceland. Void where prohibited by law. Officers, members, directors and employees of Metropolitan Airports Commission (the “Sponsor” or “MAC”) and Icelandair Group hf. (“Prize Supplier”) each of their subsidiaries, sales representatives, franchisees and franchisees’ affiliates, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising, promotional and judging agencies, persons engaged in the development, production or distribution of materials for this Promotion (collectively, the “Released Entities”) and the immediate family members (parent, in-laws, grandparents, children, grandchildren, siblings, and spouse) of, or persons living in the same household as such individuals (whether related or not), are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes.
III. HOW TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES: An individual is deemed a Participant (“Participant” or “you”) in the Sweepstakes if eligible and enters by visiting https://woobox.com/fp8tk4 (the “Registration Website”) and following the prompts to provide a first name, last name, state of residence, phone number (to be used for winner contact only), e-mail address, and age.
By submitting a completed registration form, a Participant automatically receives one (1) entry into the random drawing. Limit of one (1) entry per Participant. Any attempt by any Participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods, or to tamper with, influence or impair the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of this Sweepstakes will void that Participant’s entry and that Participant may be disqualified from the entire Sweepstakes. Proof of entering information is not considered proof of delivery to or receipt by Sponsor of an entry. All entries become the exclusive property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
By participating in this Sweepstakes, Participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Administrator and the Sponsor to obtain, use, and transfer your name, address and other information for the sole purpose of administering this Sweepstakes.
IV. WINNER SELECTION, NOTIFICATION AND ODDS: On or about July 30, 2021, one (1) potential Grand Prize Winner (“Winner”) will be randomly selected by the Sweepstakes Administrator, an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the selection of Winners of this Sweepstakes. The potential Winner is notified by phone. If a potential Winner cannot be reached within 24 hours from the first notification attempt or does not respond with complete contact information as requested by voice message, rejects the prize, or whose phone provider indicates that the phone number is invalid or unable to receive the communication (even if ultimately delivered thereafter), the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate proposed Winner will be selected. Odds of winning are the same across Methods of Entry and depend on the number of eligible entries received.
V. PRIZE (“Grand Prize”):
One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive an Icelandair Gift Certificate (“Gift Certificate”) in the amount of $1,200 that can be used toward the purchase of airfare or a choice of vacation packages (“Vacation Package(s)”) from Icelandair. Gift Certificate is required to be used within five (5) years from the original date of issue. Total Prize Pool Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) is $1,200.00 (USD)
VI. GRAND PRIZE TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The Grand Prize Winner is required to comply with any and all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. The Winner is responsible for all income taxes of any kind related to the Grand Prize. The Winner is required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (“Prize Release”) and provide any additional information (such as social security number) that may be required by Sponsor and Administrator. Winner may receive an IRS Form 1099 for the value of the Prize. Except where prohibited by law, potential Winner must return all such required documents within five (5) days following attempted notification or forfeit Prize.
VII. GIFT CERTIFICATE AND GRAND PRIZE CONDITIONS: Travel restrictions, conditions and limitations may apply, all of which are subject to change at any time, without notice, at Prize Supplier or Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Gift Certificate can be redeemed by visiting Icelandair’s website at www.icelandair.com. Vacation Packages are subject to change. Details of Vacation Packages can be found on the Prize Supplier’s website. Grand Prize Winner’s responsibilities, some which may be covered by the Gift Certificate, include, but are not limited to: transportation to and from originating airport; hotel accommodations, passenger tariffs or duties, surcharges, airport fees, service charges or facility charges, personal charges at lodging, security fees, taxes or other expenses, any additional ground transportation, travel insurance, room service charges, bag check fees, parking fees, laundry service, food, beverages, merchandise, souvenirs, telephone calls, tips, gratuities and service charges, site-seeing excursions, and any other incidental costs or expenses not identified in these Official Rules. The Gift Certificate’s terms and conditions for specific usage information can be found at https://www.icelandair.com/support/terms-and-conditions/terms-and-conditions-for-icelandair-gift-certificates/. Travel companion (“Travel Companion(s)” or “Guest”) must execute a Travel Companion Waiver (“Travel Companion Waiver”) prior to issuance of travel tickets. If any Guest is a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, he/she must be accompanied on the trip by his/her parent or legal guardian, who must be either the Grand Prize Winner, or another Guest of the Grand Prize Winner. The Winner and all Travel Companions, if any, are solely responsible for having the required identifications and for obtaining valid passports and any other documents necessary for international travel. The Prize is not exchangeable, transferable, or redeemable for cash. There are no substitutions unless specified by the Sponsor. Prize details and availability are subject to change, and in the event that the Prize Supplier is unable to provide the Prize Winner with the Prize won, the Prize Supplier or Sponsor may elect, at their sole and absolute discretion, provide Winner with the approximate value of such item in cash or award an alternate Prize of comparable or greater value.
Winner and Guests are also responsible for obtaining travel insurance (and all other forms of insurance) at their option and hereby acknowledge that Sponsor has not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance. Sponsor will not replace any lost, mutilated, or stolen travel vouchers or certificates. Sponsor is not liable for any missed events, any opportunities or expenses incurred as a consequence of flight cancellation/delay or ground transportation delay. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any transportation or other Prize element except at the sole and absolute discretion of Sponsor. Prize award details and travel information to be provided to the Winner at the time of Grand Prize Winner notification. Any changes made will be at the expense of the Grand Prize Winner. Grand Prize actual value may vary based on airfare fluctuations and distance between departure and destination. Winner will not receive difference between actual and approximate retail value. All expenses in excess of the Gift Certificate value are the responsibility of the Winner. If less than $1,200 of the Gift Certificate is used, the balance will not be awarded.
If the Winner becomes disabled or cannot otherwise fully enjoy the Prize due to illness, Sponsor shall have the option of: (a) being relieved of liability for fulfillment of the Prize award; or (b) re-drawing and awarding the prize to a new winner.
VIII. MODIFICATION: In no event will Sponsor be obligated to award more prizes than the number of prizes stated in these Official Rules. If for any reason Sponsor determines, at its sole discretion, that the Promotion is no longer capable of running as intended by these Official Rules for any reason whatsoever, Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, suspend, postpone, delay or modify the Promotion in whole or in part, including but not limited to, any occurrences described in Rule X, or any other causes which may corrupt or impair the integrity, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Promotion. If Sponsor determines that more Prize claims are submitted or more prize notices are distributed than the number of prizes offered in these Official Rules, Sponsor shall immediately suspend all drawings and prize awards, and Sponsor reserves the right to award any remaining prizes (up to the total set forth in these Official Rules) in a manner deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor. For example, Sponsor may select a Winner in a random drawing from among the eligible Entries received up to the time of the impairment, or conduct a random drawing among all claimants, and neither Sponsor nor its Administrators nor any of the Released Entities shall have any further liability to any Participant in connection with the Promotion.
IX. SPONSOR’S RIGHTS TO ENTRIES: Any personal information supplied by a Participant to the Sponsor will be subject to their privacy policy posted at https://metroairports.org/terms-use-privacy-notice. By entering the Sweepstakes, you agree that you understand that the information you provide, including your name and e-mail address, is subject to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act and may be available to the public upon request, and grant to the Sponsor permission to share your e-mail address and any other personally identifiable information with the Released Entities for the purpose of administration, Prize fulfillment, and to send you e-mails about their products and services, if you choose to opt in as part of your submission. Provided phone number will be used for Sweepstakes Winner contact only. You may opt out of receiving future e-mails from the Sponsor or Prize Supplier by clicking on the unsubscribe link contained in any e-mail and following the online directions for opting out of future promotional e-mails. You will remain eligible for this Promotion whether or not you opt out of receiving promotional e-mails. The Sponsor will not sell, rent, transfer or otherwise disclose your personal data to any third party other than as described above herein or in their respective privacy policy. Any requested opt-in consent is not required to enter the Sweepstakes and will not increase your chances of winning.
Each Winner’s acceptance of a Prize constitutes permission and signifies Winner’s agreement and consent (except where prohibited) that the Sponsor may use the Winner’s name, photograph, city, state, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice and/or Prize information for any and all public relations, advertising and/or promotional purposes as determined by the Sponsor, in all forms of media and by all manners (now and hereafter known), worldwide, including the Internet, in perpetuity, without notice, consent, review or approval or further compensation, except where prohibited by law.
X. ENTRY ERRORS/TAMPERING: The Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) electronic or digital transmissions or any entries that are lost, late, stolen, incomplete, illegible, damaged, garbled, destroyed, postage-due or misdirected; (ii) any problems or technical malfunctions, errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation or transmission, communication failures, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; (iii) failed or unavailable hardware, network, software or telephone transmissions, damage to Participants’ or any person’s computer and/or its contents, or causes beyond the Sponsor’s or Prize Supplier’s reasonable control that jeopardize the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes; (iv) any entries submitted in a manner that is not expressly allowed under these rules; (v) incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by participants or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes, (vi) any typographical or other error in the printing or advertising of the offer, administration or execution of the Sweepstakes, or in the announcement of the Grand Prize Winner; or (vii) malfunctions or interference resulting from illicit, malicious or injurious code (including but not limited to viruses, worms and denial of service attacks). If for any reason the Sweepstakes cannot be executed as planned, including but not limited to transmission failure, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor that corrupts or affects the security, administration, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, or if the Sweepstakes is compromised or becomes technically corrupted in any way, electronically or otherwise, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes and reserves the right, but shall not be obligated, to randomly select the Winners from among all non-suspect Submissions received as of the date/time of such termination/cancellation or modification. The Sponsor reserves the right to investigate multiple shipments of Prizes to any single address. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and prosecute any individual who tampers with or attempts to tamper with the entry process or who enters using any automatic or programmed entry duplication method.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR OTHERWISE CORRUPT THE SWEEPSTAKES OR TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY, PROSECUTE AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
The Sponsor reserves the right to void all entries made through any robotic, automatic, mechanical, programmed or similar entry duplication method and to disqualify any individual using such a method. Any Participant determined to be involved in such prohibited activity will not be eligible to receive a Prize in this Sweepstakes.
XI. RELEASES: All Participants, as a condition of participation in this Sweepstakes, agree to indemnify, release and hold harmless the Released Entities from any and all liability, claims, damages, injuries or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with: (a) participating in any aspect of the Sweepstakes; or (b) the receipt, ownership, possession, use or misuse of any Prize awarded.
XII. DISPUTE RESOLUTION: Except where prohibited, each Participant agrees that this Sweepstakes shall be governed by and construed in accordance with, the laws of the state of Minnesota without giving effect to its or any other state’s choice of law or conflict of law statutes, regulations or rules. Participants agree that any and all disputes, claims, causes of action, or controversies (“Claims”) arising out of or in connection with the Sweepstakes shall be resolved, upon the election by either the Participant or the Sponsor, by arbitration conducted by telephone, online and/or be solely based on written submissions without any personal appearance by the parties or witnesses unless otherwise mutually agreed by the parties, pursuant to this provision and the code of procedures of either the National Arbitration Forum (“NAF”) or the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”), as selected by the Participant. IF ARBITRATION IS CHOSEN BY ANY PARTY WITH RESPECT TO A CLAIM, NEITHER PARTY WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO LITIGATE THAT CLAIM IN COURT OR HAVE A JURY TRIAL ON THAT CLAIM. FURTHER, NEITHER PARTICIPANT NOR SPONSOR WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A REPRESENTATIVE CAPACITY ON BEHALF OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC OR OTHER PERSONS SIMILARLY SITUATED, OR AS A MEMBER OF ANY CLASS OF CLAIMANTS PERTAINING TO ANY CLAIM SUBJECT TO ARBITRATION. EXCEPT AS SET FORTH BELOW, THE ARBITRATOR’S DECISION WILL BE FINAL AND BINDING. NOTE THAT OTHER RIGHTS THAT PARTICIPANT WOULD HAVE IF PARTICIPANT WENT TO COURT ALSO MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE IN ARBITRATION. Unless the Participant and Sponsor agree otherwise, the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s Claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of a representative or class proceeding. The arbitrator’s authority to resolve Claims is limited to Claims between the Sponsor and the Participant alone, and the arbitrator’s authority to make awards is limited to awards to the Sponsor and the Participant alone. Furthermore, claims brought by either party against the other may not be joined or consolidated in arbitration with Claims brought by or against any third party, unless agreed to in writing by all parties. The arbitrator may award declaratory or injunctive relief only in favor of the individual party seeking relief and only to the extent necessary to provide relief warranted by that party’s individual claim.
No arbitration award or decision will have any preclusive effect as to issues or claims in any dispute with anyone who is not a named party to the arbitration. Notwithstanding any other provision in these Official Rules and without waiving either party’s right to appeal such decision, should any portion of this paragraph be deemed invalid or unenforceable, then the entirety of this arbitration provision (other than this sentence and the paragraph below) shall be null and void.
If arbitration is not used to resolve a Claim, PARTICIPANT AGREES THAT THERE WILL NOT BE A JURY TRIAL. PARTICIPANT AND SPONSOR EACH UNCONDITIONALLY WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO TRIAL BY JURY IN ANY CLAIM OR COUNTERCLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE SWEEPSTAKES IN ANY WAY. IN THE EVENT OF LITIGATION, THIS PARAGRAPH MAY BE FILED TO SHOW A WRITTEN CONSENT TO A TRIAL BY THE COURT. Participant agrees that this Sweepstakes shall be subject to and governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without giving any effect to the principals of conflicts of law, and the forum for any dispute shall be in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
XIII. WINNERS LIST/OFFICIAL SWEEPSTAKES RULES REQUEST: For the name and city/state of residence of the Grand Prize Winner, or a copy of these Official Rules, send a request specifying a copy of the Winners' List or Official Rules along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to Compliance / Icelandair Summer Getaway Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 468, Stonington, CT 06378. Requests must be received by September 3, 2021.

XV. ADMINISTRATOR: Compliance Sweepstakes Services LLC, PO Box 468., Stonington, CT 06378 (the “Sweepstakes Administrator”).
XVI. MISCELLANEOUS: The names of individuals, groups, companies, products and services mentioned herein, and any corresponding likenesses, logos and images thereof reproduced herein, have been used for identification purposes only and may be the copyrighted properties and trademarks of their respective owners. The mention of any individual, group or company, or the inclusion of a product or service as a prize, does not imply any association with or endorsement by such individual, group or company or the manufacturer or distributor of such product or service and, except as otherwise indicated, no association or endorsement is intended or should be inferred. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules or the Prize Acceptance Release will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision of the Official Rules or the Prize Acceptance Release is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision. For Participant, to the extent there is a conflict between Official Rules appearing any other location and any terms of use or other agreements posted on the Sponsor's Website, these are the Official Rules to be abided by.
