Terms and conditions
- The promoter is Hong Kong Tourism Board (Promoter).
- All references to time in this document are a reference to the local time in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on the date stated. The promotion commences at 9am on 13 March 2023 and closes at 11.59pm on 10 April 2023 (Promotion Period).
- You are eligible to enter if you submit a valid entry and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
- The only way to submit a valid entry is by the following:

- and completing all fields with valid details;
- Answer the 3 multiple choice questions
- Answer the competition question “Tell us in 25 words or less, what do you want to experience in Hong Kong and why?”
- By reading and agreeing to the Terms and Conditions.
- Entry is open to Australian registered travel consultants over the age of 18 (Eligible Entrants), excluding directors, management, employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and its related bodies corporate and registered travel companions of employees of the Promoter and its related bodies corporate.
- The winner will be notified in April 2023 via email.
- All valid entries will be judged on creativity merits by Hong Kong Tourism Board. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- There will be one winner.
- The prizes on offer:
- Return economy flights for two flying Cathay Pacific from selected ports* (valued at AU$3,200)
- Four complimentary nights for two at the Island Shangri-La in their newly renovated Grand Premier Harbour View Room, breakfast included (valued at AU$6,720)
- AU$500 travel voucher usable on airport transfers and Hong Kong experiences
- In order to be eligible to win, entrants must be eligible to travel to Hong Kong and have a valid passport.
- The winner is responsible for any Covid related expenses, such as, but not limited to PCR testing.
- The winner will be responsible for obtaining their own travel insurance prior to departure from Australia.
- The prize is not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services.
- The prize cannot be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to by the Promoter. It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner accept the conditions of use of that prize.
- By entering the competition you are indicating your consent to having your name and photo include in a winner announcement in Karryon's e-newsletter.

- The prize is subject to the following terms and conditions from Island Shangri La Hotel
- 4 complimentary nights in newly renovated Grand Premier Harbour View Room including breakfast for two at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong (Prize value at HKD36,400)
- The complimentary nights are valid from 24 April 2023 to 23 April 2024, black-out dates/periods may apply during festive season and high seasons
- These complimentary nights cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts, privileges, promotions/offers or any other gift certificates
- Advance reservation is required and subject to space availability and hotel’s confirmation
- These complimentary nights must be in one booking for 4-consecutive night stay
- The prize is subject to the following terms and conditions from Cathay Pacific:
- 2 x Cathay Pacific Return Economy Class Tickets (taxes and surcharges apply) from Australia to Hong Kong International Airport valued at RRP ($AUS) is $3,200 (based on SYD>HKG, Departure dates May 2023)
- Flights must depart from Australia.
- The Winner (and their travelling companion) are responsible for all other expenses including but not limited to meals (unless specified), incidentals, travel insurance, visa, spending money, activities (unless specified), taxes (including departure tax) and all transfers other than those specified. Promoter and Sponsors strongly recommend travel insurance valid for the entire duration of the Winner’s holiday, to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Unless expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions all other expenses become the responsibility of the Winner.
- Airport taxes and surcharges must be paid at the time of booking.
- The winner and travelling companion must travel at the same time and on the same flight; must depart from one of the following Cathay Pacific ports Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth (“departure city”) and return to the same departure city; and are responsible for transport from their residence to their nearest departure city for flight departure.
- Airline tickets will be issued electronically and are valid for travel on Cathay Pacific services only, over the specified routing and in the class of travel as stated. The flight component is valid for use between 24 April 2023 and 23 April 2024 only. These tickets are non-refundable, non-negotiable, and non-transferable. Please advise of your preferred travel dates, no less than two months prior to travel.
- Travel must be taken at the time specified by the promoter. If a winner and travelling companion are, for whatever reason, unable to travel on a nominated date, or do not take an element of the prize within the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner. Cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize or element thereof.
- Air tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of Cathay Pacific and are subject to availability and seasonal embargos. Flight itinerary may have to be adjusted depending on the airlines departure city and their current flight schedule. Frequent Flyer points are not awarded on these tickets and the Winner and their travelling companions cannot upgrade any Prize using Frequent Flyer points. Once airfares are booked and confirmed the Winner cannot make any changes.
- It is the travellers’ personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Winner (and their travelling companion) must have, or acquire, a valid passport with at least 12 months validity at the time of accepting the Prize. If the Winner does not have a valid passport, and cannot acquire one within the required period, the offer will be void and a new winner will be selected. The Winner will need to provide prod of this travel document, and its validity, during the confirmation process. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the traveller/s.
- Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses including travel to and from the event/departure point, become the responsibility of the winner.
- IMPORTANT NOTE:
Travel blackout periods apply. At certain times of the year travel may be restricted due to heavy demand on our services. When planning your trip, please avoid travelling during Australian school holidays, Christmas/New Year, Easter, Hong Kong Rugby Sevens and Lunar New Year periods.
In addition, throughout the year, priority is always given to passengers who have purchased a ticket. During peak periods if a flight is overbooked, you may be asked to travel on a later flight or on another day. Should this occur, Cathay Pacific Airways does not accept responsibility for any loss or damages resulting from any interruption to your travel plans.
