Last week the team in Manteno had the privilege of celebrating Phil M. and his 25 years with Swift! His team says Phil is an absolute pleasure to work with, a great human being and a friend. If we had more Phil’s in the world, it would be a better place. Phil is a master trailer tech but is an amazing technician working on anything. This is Manteno’s first 25th anniversary employee.

The past year has been the most challenging yet amazing experience ever being a new driver. I am very grateful for Swift and all of the great opportunities that this company has to offer. I am currently on the Georgia Pacific account and I love it. It’s a dedicated lane so I see the same customers often. That’s a plus because they treat us like family. We are always rolling and it’s consistent. My driver leader Kirk is committed to his fleet. He does his best to resolve any issues that may occur. I did some research and I came up with 753 trailers Gary has unloaded by hand. And he is also a safe driver. He has only had one incident in the 20 years and it was very minor.

Mike has been with Swift since 2000. He has left to see if the grass is greener on the other side, but it wasn't for him and he returned home. Mike was out for 360 days battling 2 types of cancer and Swift held his position an seniority the entire time. Swift Charities was also a huge help to Mike and his family during this time. Mike loves how Swift did all of these things for him and he is loyal to Swift until the day he retires, when the time is right. Mike also wanted to mention his most memorable haul, which was live tigers from northern NJ to Alabama!!

We all appreciate everything Mike has done and the stories we have all heard from him! Happy Anniversary Mike!

He has been with the Salt Lake Terminal all through out his career. He now helps as a road tester for upgrades, LCQ, and does backing classes to help students and drivers.

He has a passion for teaching drivers how to improve their skill set. Safety is number one priority to make sure every driver reaches their most important stop.
