TELEDYNE MARINE 2025 PHOTO/DATA COMPETITION  RULES

It’s that time of the year again!  Teledyne Marine is pleased to kick-off of our annual photo/data contest in which we invite customers to share photos of Teledyne Marine products in action in the office, lab, or field; or data samples collected using our products.

Winners not only receive bragging rights, but some great prizes!

Award Categories - This year’s award categories include:

Voters Choice Award – Grand Prize
A Grand Prize will be awarded to the best photo/data submitted across all categories.
Best Data Award
Share your awesome multibeam, single beam, sonar, or ADCP data collected using Teledyne Marine gear.
Adversity Award
Share photos from your worst days - fighting the elements, working in extremes, and/or dealing with challenges.
Moment of Zen Award 
Share photos of our products and you or your team working in beautiful locations, enjoying tranquil moments, and/or celebrating those small achievements.
Underwater Award
Share those awesome underwater photos that we all love. Photos can either show Teledyne Marine products in action below the surface or can be photos taken with our Bowtech cameras.

Selection of the winning photos/data

The contest page will display all entries for the public to vote on their favorite photo/data.

A Teledyne Marine jury will choose their favorite image in each award category (Best Data Award, Adversity Award, Moment of Zen Award  and the Underwater Award), based on the quality and content of the photo/data, and award it the category prize. Make sure you rally your friends and colleagues to vote for a photo/data on our voting page - you need a minimum of 5 votes to be eligible for awards!

The Teledyne Marine jury will select the Voters Choice Award from the top 10 images/entries that receive the highest number of public votes.

Contest Prizes*:

*Government officials will not be eligible for prizes as per the eligibility criteria specified in the contest rules

The winner of each of the other award categories wins: a KODAK PIXPRO WPZ2 Rugged Waterproof Digital Camera

Voters Choice Award – The Grand Prize this year is a HERO13 Black Creator Edition.

The winner of the grand prize may instead, at his/her option, choose a prize from one of the other award categories.

How to Enter: 

Step 1. Visit the contest page to upload your photos/data and include supporting details.
Step 2. Share the photos/data on your social media channels and encourage friends, family, and industry associates to vote for your submission.  Tag us @teledynemarine on Facebook and #teledynemarine on LinkedIn. We’ll share them as well.

Photo/ data Submission Guidelines 
Photos/ data must be saved in TIF, JPEG or PNG format.  Please submit highest resolution possible.  Maximum of 3 submissions per person.

Winners will be announced via a press release, social media and on the Teledyne Marine website.

Contest Rules:

Entries for the contest must be submitted online at contest page. Entry opens on June 18th, 2025. The closing date is September 30th, 2025.

The winners will be announced in October 2025.

A minimum of 5 votes is required for your image to qualify for an award.

The winning photo/data within each of the categories Best Data Award, Aversity Award, Moment of Zen Award and Underwater Award will by a jury be selected as the jury’s favorite image within each category.

The winning image for the Voters Choice Award will by a jury be selected as the jury’s favorite image from the 10 images receiving the most votes across all categories.

The photo/data will by the jury be evaluated by the following criteria:

Technical quality of the photo like focus, colors, and composition counts for 50%.
The content, the situation and the story being told with the image counts for 50%.
The jury consists of internal technical experts from Teledyne Marine.

Teledyne Marine may exclude images from the contest if there is reason to suspect cheating or manipulation of the photos/data and/or the voting process.

By submission of photos/data, the participants grant Teledyne Marine a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable right to use the content for promotional and marketing use.

If submitted photos include images of people, the people in the photos (for persons under 18, the consent of their parent/guardian) must have given their explicit consent to the photo being submitted to the Teledyne Marine 2025 Photo/Data Competition and used as specified in the contest rules.

All submitted photos must include a Teledyne Marine product or be taken using a Teledyne Bowtech camera.

All submitted data images must be created using Teledyne software suite or show data collected with a Teledyne Marine sensor.

Teledyne Marine reserves the right to cancel the competition and/or amend these terms and conditions without notice and without cause.

Teledyne Marine may extend the closing date for a reasonable period.

By participation in the contest and submission of photos/data, the participants warrant that they have the full proprietary rights to the uploaded content.

Media coverage will be generated by Teledyne Marine and the submitted photos may by Teledyne Marine be used for publicity purposes.

Eligibility for participation in the contest/prize award:

Teledyne Marine employees and their immediate families and anyone professionally connected with the prize promotion are not eligible for participation in the contest.
Government officials may join the contest but will not be eligible for a prize if announced as a winner due to Teledyne’s anti-corruption policies and anti-corruption regulation. Nevertheless, we still love seeing how government officials utilize our products, so we encourage them to submit photos to share with the underwater community.
If the participant is under 18 years of age, consent for participation in the contest is required by a parent/guardian.
Individuals located in a restricted country, cf. Teledyne Marine’s General Terms and Conditions of Sale assessible at www.teledyne.com/what-we-do/terms-and conditions, are not eligible for participation in the contest.

Teledyne Marine does not accept any responsibility for entries that are incomplete, delayed, damaged, wrongly delivered or not received for whatever reason.

Teledyne Marine may remove and exclude images deemed offensive or in conflict with the contest rules.

No cash alternatives for prizes are available. Not all prizes may be available for use and/or shipment to all parts of the world. Teledyne Marine will make reasonable endeavors to arrange for an alternate prize in these cases.

Teledyne Marine and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, or representatives accept no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any participant as a result of participating in the contest or being selected for a prize.

Any dispute related to the contest shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States of America, excepting its laws and rules relating to conflict of law.
