The “Roberts Gallery Night Photo Contest" is open only to legal residents of the continental United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. ELIGIBILITY
Open to all legal residents of the continental United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Robert’s Distributors, LP, their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, spouse) and members of their same households (related or not) are not eligible to participate in the photo contest.The offer is void where prohibited and subject to all federal, state and local laws.
CONDITIONS
By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and all decisions made by Robert’s Distributors, LP are legally binding in all matters relating to this photo contest. By participating in the photo contest, entrants agree to release Robert’s Distributors, LP and its' directors, officers, employees, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, agencies and all prize suppliers (collectively, the Released Parties), harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the photo contest, or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize, including, without limitation, personal injuries, death and property damage of any kind, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy, whether suffered by entrant or a third party. Entrants further agree not to pursue any right, claim or action against the Released Parties in connection with their participation in this photo contest. Robert’s Distributors, LP reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, modify or cancel the entire photo contest in the event of a virus or bug that compromises the integrity of the promotion or if the promotion becomes technically corrupted. In such an event, Robert’s reserves the right to award prize from eligible entries received prior to cancellation and all other eligible entries received. Robert’s Distributors, LP and reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the photo contest, violates the Official Rules, or acts in a disruptive manner with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE, ENTRY FORM OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PHOTO CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. This photo contest is governed by the laws of the state of Indiana.
PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES
Twenty (20) photos from each of the seven categories (Film, travel, portrait, animal, sports, aerial/drone, IN our Backyard) across all three platforms, Facebook, Instagram and email submissions, will be selected to be displayed during the Roberts Gallery Night on Friday, August 2, 2019. All images will be on display through August 31, 2019 and all photographers will receive their printed image at the end of the display period.
Grand Prize awarded for best overall photo is one (1) Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II Mirrorless Camera (valued at $899.99) and an Olympus 12-200mm lens (valued at $899.99).
1st Runner Up (2nd Place) will be awarded an Olympus TG-5 Tough camera (valued at $449.99)
2nd Runner Up (3rd Place) will be awarded an Olympus TG-Tracker camera (valued at $349.99)
A winner of each category will also be selected. Each of the seven category winners will receive a $25 Roberts Gift Card.
No prize transfer. There is no prize substitution or cash equivalent. Winner will not be compensated for their time taking the photos or for the photos themselves.
Winner will be notified by the email address and social media handle or phone number provided. Sponsor will make three (3) attempts to contact Winner within five (5) days from time Winner is selected. If Sponsor is unable to reach Grand Prize Winner during this time frame or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, he/she will be disqualified. Noncompliance with photo contest requirements will also result in disqualification of the Winner, and a Substitute Winner will be chosen from the finalist photos.
JURIED PHOTO CONTEST PROCESS:
What to Enter: A photo along with completed entry form via Facebook or appropriate Instagram hashtags must be included for proper entry into contest. This photo contest is based on requirements that are predetermined by Robert’s Distributors, LP. Robert’s reserves the right to disqualify any photos that do not meet the requirements of the prompted theme.
Themes:
This photo contest consists of seven (7) sub categories. Each image submitted must be submitted to a specific category and fit the theme of that category. Both digital and film images for any category will be accepted. The categories are as follows:
Photo Alterations and Disqualifications: Photo editing and adjustments are allowed in this photo contest. We reserve the right to disqualify any photo that we believe has been overly enhanced (including scene compositing and inserting subjects or backgrounds that did not exist in the original photo). Any plagiarized photo or photo that contains branding or watermarks will not be accepted. We recommend NOT watermarking your images as all winning photographs will be properly credited. High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Decisions and judgments made by our judges will be final.
Who will the Jury Be: A panel of our professional staff of photographers at Roberts along with outside professional photographers and representatives from Olympus will choose all of the photos to be displayed during our Gallery night on August 2nd.
Your Pictures: Please use your own work! Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s copyright are not eligible. The person who submits a photo is responsible for securing permission of the subjects. Robert’s is not responsible for collecting and verifying model release forms.
Judging Criteria: Judges will consider the following criteria: appropriate subject matter and compliance with the appropriate photography theme; photo quality; technique, composition, lighting, original content and overall aesthetic beauty. Decisions of the judges will be final.
Time Frame: There are no timeframe restrictions on when photos must have been taken for this contest.
Entry Limitation: Please do not enter more seven (7) total images in the #RobertsGalleryNight contest.
Winning photographs and selected finalists may be displayed on the Robert’s Camera website, Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, in print in our store locations and other possible media outlets at the discretion of Robert’s Distributors, LP. Proper consent will be obtained, and will include photographer credit. By entering the contest, entrants grant Robert’s Distributors a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display the entries related to the photo contest. All photos displayed by Robert’s Distributors will give recognition to the appropriate photographer. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit.
The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Robert’s Distributors, LPreserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion.
Robert’s Distributors, LP will not sell your information. The information we collect is used to improve the content of our web page and customer database.
Force Majeure: The failure of Robert’s Distributors, LP to comply with any provision of these Official Rules due to hurricane, war, fire, riot, earthquake, act of public enemies, actions of governmental authorities outside of the control of the Releasees (excepting compliance with applicable codes and regulations) or other, force majeure event will not be considered a breach of these Official Rules.
