Poll vs survey vs quiz
Three formats, three jobs. Match the format to what you actually need to know.
Polls, surveys, and quizzes look adjacent on a feature page and behave nothing alike in production. Each one solves a different job, takes a different amount of audience attention, and produces a different shape of result. Picking the wrong format is the most common reason these campaigns underperform — not the wrong question.
Three formats, three jobs
The simplest way to choose is to name the job out loud. Each format does one well and the others poorly.

Combining formats in a campaign
The strongest campaigns sometimes use all three in sequence. A poll on social to surface interest, a quiz on the landing page to segment and capture leads, a survey to the new contacts a week later for deeper data. Each format earns a different kind of attention and produces a different deliverable.
