The ‘’Build a Better Bite’’ Recipe Promotion (the “Promotion) begins on Thursday, October 1, 2026 and ends on November 29, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT (the “Promotion End Date”), such period referred to herein as the “Promotion Period”. The Promotion is sponsored by the California Date Commission, or CDC (the “Promotion Sponsor”).
The Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, YouTube, Instagram or Twitter (each, a “Social Platform”). Each Social Platform is hereby completely released of all liability by each entrant in this Promotion. Any questions, comments, or complaints regarding the Promotion must be directed to the Promotion Sponsor and not to any Social Platform.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. MAKING A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
To enter the Promotion:
Step 1: Visit the Promotion landing page at https://woobox.com/chk36f/rules (the “Website”).
Step 2: Upon visiting the Website, follow the on-screen instructions to (i) fully complete the official Promotion entry form (the “Entry Form”) with all required information, which may include a requirement to enter your first and last name, valid email address, city/town and state of residence, Zip code, and date of birth.
Step 3: Once you have fully completed the Entry Form with all required information, follow the on-screen instructions to submit your Entry Form (the “Entry”). Create and submit two (2) original healthy stuffed California Date bite recipes: one (1) sweet recipe and one (1) savory recipe. Each recipe must include a recipe title, ingredients and assembly instructions, and an accompanying photograph of the finished creation.
Step 4: Upload the required photographs of your sweet and savory California Date creations in an accepted file format.
Step 5: Confirm that you agree to the Official Contest Rules and confirm that you are at least twenty-one (21) years of age and a legal resident of the United States.
Step 6: Submit your completed Entry Form in accordance with the on-screen instructions.
Each eligible Entry must contain two (2) original recipes—one sweet and one savory—that use fresh California Medjool Dates as the base ingredient.
Each recipe should feature California Dates that are pitted and split lengthwise and should incorporate a lean protein or healthy fat filling and healthy texture and flavor toppings.
The Contest Sponsor will have a panel of judges select three (3) winners from all eligible Entries received based on the judging criteria described below.

At the time of entering the Promotion, each participant will also have the opportunity to become a “follower” of the Promotion Sponsor on their Social Platform(s). NOTE: Becoming a “follower” of the Promotion Sponsor on their Social Platform(s) will not in any way whatsoever increase or otherwise impact the chances of winning in this Promotion. A participant can opt out of receiving promotional communications from the Promotion Sponsor and un-follow the Promotion Sponsor on the Social Platform(s) at any time without impacting their chances of winning in this Promotion.
To be eligible, your Entry must be submitted and received in accordance with these Rules during the Promotion Period (as determined by the Promotion Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion). All eligible Entries submitted and received in accordance with these Rules during the Promotion Period will be entered for a chance to win. No limit to the number of entries. Each Entry must contain two (2) original and unique recipes: one (1) sweet stuffed California Date recipe and one (1) savory stuffed California Date recipe.
Participation is voluntary and does not require you to purchase anything from the Promotion Sponsor. No illegible, incomplete, forged, incorrect, or altered entries will be accepted. All entries become the property of the Promotion Sponsor and will not be returned. All entrants must be legal residents of the United States. If it is discovered by the Sponsor (using any evidence or other information made available to or otherwise discovered by the Promotion Sponsor) that any person has attempted to: (i) exceed any of the limits or conditions stated in these Rules; (ii) use multiple names, identities, e-mail addresses and/or use any automated, macro, script, robotic or other system(s) or program(s) to enter or otherwise participate in or to disrupt the Promotion; and/or (iii) disrupt or participate in the Promotion in any other fraudulent or misleading way, then he/she may be disqualified from the Promotion in the sole and absolute discretion of the Promotion Sponsor. The Promotion Parties, Promotion Partners, Meta Platforms, Inc., Google LLC and each of their respective agents, employees, directors, officers, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are not responsible for and accept no liability whatsoever in relation to, any late, lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete or incompatible Surveys, Entry Forms, Entries and/or any other Promotion-related information (collectively, “Promotion-Related Information”), all of which are void.
An Entry may be rejected if, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Promotion Sponsor: (i) the Entry is not submitted and received in accordance with these Rules during the Promotion Period; and/or (ii) the Entry is not in compliance with these Rules (including, but not limited to, the specific Participation Requirements listed below), all as determined by the Promotion Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion.
One (1) prize is available to be won in the Promotion.
The Prize: One (1) prize winner will receive a California Dates VIP package to the Palm Desert Food & Wine Festival in March 2027 that includes:
Estimated prize value: $2,000 USD. There is no substitution, cash equivalent, or transfer of prizes allowed, except as permitted by the Contest Sponsor. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
The Winner will be solely responsible for all other expenses not specifically set forth herein, including transportation or any applicable taxes.
In order to receive a prize, winner(s) may be required to provide proof of identification, meet all eligibility criteria, and complete and return any required documentation.
Taxes on any prize, including income and/or sales taxes, are the sole responsibility of the winner(s).
None of the Released Parties makes any representation or offers any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of any Prize awarded in connection with the Contest. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, each confirmed winner understands and acknowledges that he or she may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from either the Contest Sponsor or any of the other Released Parties should his/her Prize fail to be fit for its purpose or is in any way unsatisfactory.
The Promotion is only open to people who are at least 21 years old at the time of entry, legal residents of the United States, and who are otherwise eligible to use CaliforniaDates.com. Entries are limited to individuals only; commercial enterprises and business entities are not eligible. By participating in the Promotion, each entrant accepts the conditions stated in these Official Rules, agrees to be bound by the decisions of the Promotion Sponsor, and warrants that s/he is eligible to participate in the Promotion. Employees, independent contractors, officers, and directors of the Promotion Sponsor, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfilment agencies, and legal advisors, and their immediate family members and persons living in the same household, are not eligible to participate in the Promotion. PROMOTION IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW and is subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Entries that are submitted in connection with the Promotion will only be eligible if such entries do not contain content that is unlawful, hateful or obscene, in the Promotion Sponsor’s sole discretion, and do not include any other identifiable individual other than the individual participant unless prior express consent is obtained from such individual. The Promotion Sponsor will allow only those entries that have been filled out in full (i.e. all questions answered and all form fields filled) that meet all of these criteria, in the sole discretion of the Promotion Sponsor, to be posted.
Following the Contest End Date, the Contest Sponsor will provide all eligible Entries to a panel of judges selected by the Contest Sponsor.
The judges will select one (1) winner from among all eligible Entries received during the Contest Period.
Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Originality & Culinary Creativity: Unique and inventive flavor combinations and creative use of California Medjool Dates.
Nutrient Density & Wholesome Ingredients: Nutritious pairings using lean proteins, healthy fats, and nutritious, flavorful toppings.
Taste & Balance: A delicious harmony of natural sweetness, texture and flavor.
Visual Presentation: A vibrant and appetizing photograph of the finished stuffed date creations.
The judges' decisions are final and binding with respect to all matters relating to the selection of the winners.
Within thirty (30) days of the Promotion End Date, the Promotion Sponsor will notify the chosen winner via email. The Winner will be prompted to email the Promotion Sponsor in order to receive the ‘’Prize’’. In the event a winner does not accept the prize, a winner is ineligible, or the prize or prize notification is not deliverable, an alternate winner may be selected. The Promotion Sponsor is not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify the winners.
Winners agree to the publication, reproduction, and/or other use of his/her recipes and photos, name, address, voice, statements about the promotion, and/or photograph or other likeness, and/or prize information for promotional purposes by the Promotion Sponsor and/or Promotion Partner in any medium without further notice or compensation. This includes any publicity or advertising carried out by or on behalf of the Promotion Sponsor and/or Promotion Partner in perpetuity throughout the world in any manner or medium whatsoever, including print, broadcast, or the internet, to the extent permitted by law. Where lawful, the winner may be required to sign and return a Publicity Consent and Liability Release.
The Promotion Sponsor or its designated representative will make a minimum of two (2) attempts to contact the potential winner via email.
A potential winner must respond to such notification (by the specified deadline indicated in the notification) and is solely responsible for ensuring they are able to receive such notification messages, monitoring for such notification messages, and following all instructions contained in such notification messages, failing which, they may be disqualified (as determined by the Promotion Sponsor at its sole discretion).
All Promotion-Related Information and entrants are subject to verification at any time and for any reason.
The Promotion Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Promotion Sponsor – including, without limitation, government-issued photo identification):
(i) for the purposes of verifying an entrant’s eligibility to participate in this Promotion;
(ii) for the purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or legitimacy of any Promotion-Related Information and/or other information entered (or purportedly entered) for the purposes of this Promotion; and/or
(iii) for any other reason the Promotion Sponsor deems necessary, in its sole and absolute discretion, for the purposes of administering this Promotion in accordance with the letter and spirit of these Rules.
Failure to provide such proof to the complete satisfaction of the Promotion Sponsor within the timeline specified by the Promotion Sponsor may result in disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of the Promotion Sponsor. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of the Promotion will be the official time-keeping device(s) used by the Promotion Sponsor.
NO ONE IS A WINNER UNLESS AND UNTIL THE PROMOTION SPONSOR OFFICIALLY CONFIRMS THEM AS A WINNER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE RULES.
BEFORE BEING DECLARED A CONFIRMED PRIZE WINNER, the potential winner may be required to sign and return within five (5) business days of notification the Promotion Sponsor’s declaration and release form, which (among other things):
(i) confirms compliance with these Rules;
(ii) acknowledges acceptance of the Prize (as awarded);
(iii) releases the Released Parties from any and all liability in connection with this Promotion, his/her participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the Prize or any portion thereof;
(iv) agrees to indemnify the Released Parties against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from use of his/her Promotion-Related Information or any portion(s) thereof; and
(v) agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of his/her name, name of city and/or state, voice, statements about the promotion and/or photograph or other likeness without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertising carried out by or on behalf of the Promotion Sponsor or Promotion Partner in perpetuity throughout the world in any manner or medium whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the internet.
If the potential winner: (a) cannot be contacted as set out set out above, or if there is a return of a notification as undeliverable; (b) fails to return the properly executed Promotion documents within the specified time; (c) cannot accept (or is unwilling to accept) a Prize (as awarded) for any reason; and/or (d) is determined to be in violation of these Rules (all as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); then he/she will be disqualified (and will forfeit all rights to the Prize) and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to select an alternate potential winner in accordance with the procedure outlined above, with the necessary amendments (in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such newly selected potential winner).
The Promotion Sponsor and Social Platforms, and their respective agents, directors, officers, shareholders, employees, insurers, servants, parents, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, predecessors, successors, representatives, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors (the “Released Entities”), are not responsible for, shall not be liable for, and hereby disclaim all liability arising from or relating to: (i) late, lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, misaddressed, incomplete, unintelligible or postage-due entries; (ii) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, computer or other malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind, whether human or technical; (iii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer or e-mail transmissions; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Promotion Sponsor; (v) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the prize, or acceptance, possession, or use of the prize, or from participation in the Promotion; or (vi) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Promotion. The Promotion Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend, modify or cancel the Promotion should any unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond the Promotion Sponsor’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Promotion. In the event that proper administration of the Promotion is prevented by such causes as contemplated above, the Promotion Sponsor will pick the winners from all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to such action. By participating in the Promotion, participants and winners agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Released Entities, and all others associated with the development and execution of the Promotion, from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind arising out of or relating to the Promotion, participation in the Promotion, the prize, and/or acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize, including but not limited to statutory and common law claims for misappropriation or participant’s right of publicity. This Promotion shall be governed by California law.
The first name and last initial of the winner(s) and a copy of these Official Rules will be available upon request.
By entering into this Promotion, all entrants provide expressed permission for the email address provided to be used for promotional services by the California Date Commission. These email addresses will not be shared with any other third party partners, and will be used for internal marketing purposes only.
By participating in this Promotion, you are signifying your agreement that you have read and agree to be legally bound by these Official Rules and Regulations (the “Rules”).
BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS PROMOTION, YOU AGREE TO RELEASE THE RELEASED PARTIES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROMOTION AND YOUR PARTICIPATION THEREIN AND TO INDEMNIFY THE RELEASED PARTIES AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DAMAGES, LIABILITIES, COSTS, AND EXPENSES ARISING FROM YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE PROMOTION. BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS PROMOTION YOU ALSO AGREE THAT YOUR ENTRY (AND EACH INDIVIDUAL COMPONENT THEREOF) COMPLIES WITH ALL CONDITIONS STATED IN THESE RULES. THE RELEASED PARTIES WILL BEAR NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER REGARDING: (I) THE USE OF YOUR ENTRY (OR ANY COMPONENT THEREOF); (II) PARTICIPATION IN ANY PROMOTION-RELATED ACTIVITIES; (III) ANY USE, COLLECTION, STORAGE AND DISCLOSURE OF ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION; AND/OR (IV) IF DECLARED A WINNER, THE PRIZE (INCLUDING ANY USE OR MISUSE OF THE PRIZE). THE RELEASED PARTIES SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY YOU IN THE EVENT IT IS DISCOVERED THAT YOU HAVE DEPARTED FROM OR NOT OTHERWISE FULLY COMPLIED WITH ANY OF THESE RULES. By participating in the Promotion, each entrant hereby warrants and represents that any Promotion-related information he/she submits does not contain any reference to any identifiable third parties, unless consent has been obtained from all such individuals and their parent/legal guardian if they are under the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, and will not give rise to any claims whatsoever, including, without limitation, claims of infringement, invasion of privacy or publicity, or infringe on any rights and/or interests of any third party.
This Promotion is subject to all applicable federal and state laws. The decisions of the Program Sponsor with respect to all aspects of this Promotion, including without limitation the eligibility of entrants or any Promotion-Related Information, are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal.
ANYONE DEEMED BY THE PROMOTION SPONSOR TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THE PROMOTION SPONSOR’S INTERPRETATION OF THE LETTER AND/OR SPIRIT OF THESE RULES FOR ANY REASON IS SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION IN THE SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION OF THE PROMOTION SPONSOR AT ANY TIME.
All Promotion-Related Information becomes the property of the Promotion Sponsor. The Released Parties will not be liable for: (i) any failure of the Website or any other any website or platform during the Promotion; (ii) any technical malfunction or other problems of any nature whatsoever, including, without limitation, those relating to the telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software; (iii) the failure of any Promotion-Related Information, winner notification message and/or other information to be received, captured or recorded for any reason whatsoever, including, but not limited to, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website; (iv) any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or other device related to or resulting from participating in the Promotion; (v) anyone being incorrectly and/or mistakenly identified as a winner or eligible winner; and/or (vi) any combination of the above.
