CHEF’S ROLL “I LOVE SOUS VIDE” RECIPE SUBMISSION CONTEST
NO PURCHASE, PAYMENT, OR SUBMISSION TO SALES PRESENTATIONS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL, AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
The “I LOVE SOUS VIDE” RECIPE SUBMISSION CONTEST (“Contest”) is open to legal residents of the 50 United States (“US”), Puerto Rico, District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years of age (19 or older in US states AL and NE) at the time of Entry. Employees of Chef’s Roll, Inc. (“Sponsor”), Cuisine Solutions, and other providers of the Prizes (collectively the “Prize Providers”) and each of their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, and advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate families and household members are not eligible to enter or win. For purposes of this Contest, “immediate families” means parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, and siblings.
2. TO ENTER:
To enter the Contest, you must submit a photo and description of your own creation featuring sous vide cooking, along with a photo of your recipe and information about the sous vide techniques used. The submission must be uploaded to our Woobox entry system at: https://woobox.com/iv8ugu (an “Entry”). Entries will only be accepted from 8am PST December 27, 2019 to 11:59pm PST January 17, 2020 (the “Promotion Period”). Only one Entry per person. Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, illegible, incompletely received, or incomplete, for any reason, will not be eligible and are not the responsibility of the Sponsor. Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of receipt. All Entries become the property of Sponsor. In the event of a dispute over the identity of a potential winner, the winning Entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of Entry, and any potential winner may be required to provide evidence sufficient to show that he/she is the authorized account holder of that e-mail address.
If an entry is selected to be the winner of a semi-finalist prize, the winner must submit their full recipe to be eligible to receive the prize.
Semi-Finalists - There will be 10 “Semi-Finalist” prizes awarded. Each semi-finalist prize winner will receive a gift bag from cuisine solutions, containing Sous Vide magazine volumes #5 and #6, a custom sticker, apron, and oven mitt. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) = $37.50
From among the 10 selected “Semi-Finalist” winners, the following prizes will be awarded.
Grand Prize - Judges will choose one Grand Prize winner to win the “Grand Prize”. Grand prize details are as follows:
· Grand Prize Trip to Paris, France for 2 with Bruno Goussault
· The Winner must be available for travel on the dates selected by Bruno Goussault.
· Trip Length Accommodations: 2-days and 2-nights in Paris
· Hotel Accommodations: All expense paid (includes one room for two guests) at a three-star hotel as defined by France’s public tourist board Atout France.
· Airfare: Sponsor will cover $1,000 for flight cost, per person.
· All the expenses outside the services and activities (hotel, airfare, transportation to and from planned itinerary events, dinner with Bruno Goussault) of the Grand Prize, must be paid by the participant.
· Grand Prize value does not exceed $5,000. The Grand Prize does not have any cash redemption value.
· If the winner does not book air fare within the 6-month timeframe, the 2nd place runner-up will receive the Grand Prize. (same rules with them apply for the 2nd place winner).
· The Winner must also demonstrate to Sponsor, at least thirty (30) days before departure, the ability to obtain in timely fashion (i) a valid U.S. passport; (ii) all vaccinations and preventive medications required or recommended by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control for travel to Paris, France; and (iii) medical clearance, following a physical examination performed within thirty (30) days of the proposed trip. All information submitted is subject to verification by Sponsor. The Sponsor will award the Prize only upon winner confirmation, verification and final approval.
· Participating in the contest constitutes permission to use the name, photo, or likeness of the prize winner for advertising and publicity purposes (where legal) without further compensation or consent.
· Grand Prize winner will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity /Liability Release before prize is awarded. Affidavits must be returned within 14 days of notification to claim prize.
· All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
· Taxes and any expense not specified herein are the responsibility of the winner.
· The Grand Prize also contains a custom blade from NORA Knives. Knife ARV = $300
Runner-Up Prize - Judges will choose one Runner-Up winner to win the “Runner-Up Prize”. The Runner-Up Prize contains a circulator from Breville Polyscience. ARV = $250
People’s Choice Prize -The public will be allowed to vote to choose one People’s Choice Prize Winner to win the “People’s Choice Prize”. The people’s choice prize contains a circulator from Breville Polyscience. ARV = $250
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible Entries received. The Prizes are non-assignable, nontransferable, and not redeemable in cash. There are no prize substitutions, except that Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, substitute a prize of equal or greater value for a Prize. All Prizes will be awarded. Incidental expenses and all other costs and expenses which are not specifically listed as part of a Prize in these Official Rules and which may be associated with the award, acceptance, receipt, and use of all or any portion of the awarded Prize are solely the responsibility of the respective Prize Winners. All federal, state, and local taxes associated with the receipt or use of any Prize are solely the responsibility of the Winner.
4. SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNER:
At the end of the promotion period, the Cuisine Solutions judging panel will select 10 semi-finalist winners, based on the quality of the submissions in terms of dish originality, image appeal, and use of sous vide. The People’s Choice winner will be determined by number of public votes cast from the time the submission period closes through January 25, 2020. The judging panel will further select the grand prize winner and runner-up prize winner. If the entry with the most public votes is selected for either grand prize or runner up prize, the entry with the next-highest number of votes will receive the people’s choice prize, and so on. On January 26, 2020 the winners will be announced (each a “Winner”)
If a Winner does not respond within forty-eight (48) hours of the date appearing on the prize notification, or fails to comply with the instructions contained in the prize notification within that time period, Sponsor reserves the right to choose an alternate Winner based on the criteria described above. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate Winner. Upon the request of the Sponsor, the potential Winner may be required to return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release and Prize Acceptance Form, and IRS W-9 form. If a potential Winner fails to comply with these Official Rules, that potential Winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected based on the criteria described above.
5. APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION:
This Contest is void where prohibited. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Any dispute arising out of this Contest or the Prize shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its choice law principles, and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in the State of California. Entrants consent to the personal jurisdiction of said courts.
6. WAIVERS AND RELEASES:
By entering, entrants agree: (a) to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding; (b) that they may be contacted in person, by phone or by e-mail, with respect to the Contest; (c)that Sponsor, Instagram, and the Prize Providers, and each of their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, and advertising and promotion agencies, and their respective officers, directors, shareholders, and employees (collectively “Releasees”) are not responsible for lost, damaged, or misplaced entries, incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human or other error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any online service or web site, or any other error or malfunction, or any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in this Contest, or for any injury to person or property; and (d) the Releasees will not be liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from acceptance/possession/use and/or misuse of the Prize, participation in the Contest, or printing, mailing or distribution errors. Each Prize Winner further acknowledges that Sponsor does not make any warranties, express or implied, relating to the Prize itself and that Sponsor expressly disclaims the implied warranties or merchantability and fitness for a particular use.
Unless prohibited by law, an Entry constitutes permission for the Releasees to use that entrant’s name, place of employment, submitted dish photo, dish name, dish description and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation or right of review or approval, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter devised, including without limitation the Internet.
8. ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS:
If for any reason the Contest is not capable of being executed as planned, or tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any suspect Entry and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and/or award the Prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect Entries received as of the date of the termination, as Sponsor determines in its sole discretion. Entries not complying with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification.
9. DATA PRIVACY:
If any provision(s) of these Official Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.

12. GRANT OF RIGHTS IN PHOTOS:
By submitting any photo or information to Sponsor, you hereby grant to Sponsor and its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees and assigns, an irrevocable, perpetual and royalty-free right to use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish and otherwise make use of the submitted photo or other information in any and all media, whether now known or hereinafter created, throughout the world and for any purpose. In addition to other things, the rights granted to Sponsor includes but is not limited to the right to resize, crop, censor, compress, edit, feature, caption, affix logos to, and to otherwise alter or make use of the submitted photo. By submitting any photo or information to Sponsor, you hereby represent and warrant that the submitted photo or information does not and shall not infringe on any copyright, any rights of privacy or publicity of any person, or any other right of any third party, and you have the right to grant any and all rights and licenses granted to Sponsor herein, including but not limited to all necessary rights under copyright, free and clear of any claims or encumbrances.
You acknowledge and agree that Sponsor shall have no obligation to post, display or otherwise make publicly available any photo or information submitted by you, and may, in its sole and unfettered discretion, remove, edit, modify or delete any photo or information that you submit to Sponsor.
You understand and intend that any photo or information submitted by you to Sponsor may be available for viewing, rating, review and comment on by the public, and understand that comments or ratings with which you disagree or are unhappy about may be published or otherwise become associated with any photo or information you submit to Sponsor. By submitting any photo or information to Sponsor, you hereby waive any privacy expectations that you may have with respect to any such photo or information submitted by you to Sponsor.
You hereby agree to hold Sponsor and its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees, sponsors and assigns harmless from and against, and hereby waive any right to pursue, any claims of any nature arising in connection with the inclusion in, publication via or display on any Sponsor site, or any other use authorized under these terms, of any photo or information submitted to Sponsor by you.
Photos or information submitted by you to the Sponsor shall be the property of Sponsor, and Sponsor shall have no obligation to preserve, return or otherwise make available to you or others any photos or information so submitted.
13. TO RECEIVE WINNER NAME OR OFFICIAL RULES:
To request the names of all Winners (available after January 26, 2020) or a copy of these Official Rules, e-mail your request to email@example.com or mail your request, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to: 325 W. Washington St, Suite 2138 San Diego,CA 92103. Residents of Vermont may omit return postage. Requests for a copy of these Official Rules received more than thirty (30) days after the Promotion Period will not be honored.
