1. Definitions

  1. Authority” shall refer to the Grenada Tourism Authority;
  2. “Brand Page” refers to;
  3. “Campaign Entities” shall refer to The Grenada Tourism Authority (“The Authority”) and other participating sponsors including the organizers, official sponsors, local tourism stakeholders and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates and their advertising and promotion agencies;
  4. “Campaign Period” refers to 12: 00 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time( “GMT”) on January 13, 2017 until 11:59 p.m. GMT on  April 30th 2017;
  5. “Competition” shall refer to the “Cruise Ship Visitor Incentive Photo Competition” to which these rules relate;
  6. “Crew or Crew Member” refers to any employee of any Identified Cruise Ship;
  7. Grand Prize” refers to the winning prize obtainable pursuant to this Competition;
  8. “Identified Cruise Ship” shall have the meaning ascribed to it in Section 2;
  9.  “Passenger” refers to a traveller of any Identified Cruise Ship on call to Grenada who is not a Crew Member;
  10. “Subscriber” shall refer to a person who has signed up to receive monthly, daily, or weekly newsletters from the Grenada Tourism Authority’s newsletter system.

2. Identified Cruise Ships
  1. An “Identified Cruise Ship” shall mean any one of the following Cruise Lines which are on call to Grenada from January to April 2017. These include:

3. Eligibility Requirements:

  1. This Campaign is open only to Passengers and Crew Members who are 21 years and older as at the start of the Campaign Period;
  2. Employees of the Campaign Entities, their immediate families (including but not limited to spouses, parents, siblings, children and each of their respective spouses) and members of their households are NOT permitted to participate in the Competition;
  3. Participants must be Passengers or Crew Members of any Identified Cruise Ship;
  4. Potential winners MUST show proof of being either a Passenger or Crew Member during the Campaign Period by way of an official cruise itinerary or online receipts or tickets or any other item of proof of being on said Cruise, as is acceptable to the Grenada Tourism Authority. (“the Authority”) The Authority shall have the sole discretion to determine when such proof is acceptable for the purpose of the Campaign. 

 4. How to enter the competition

In order to be deemed a participant you must enter the Competition. To do so, you must complete the following two-part  process:
  1. First, you must like the Brand Page or follow our Instagram and Twitter accounts; @DiscoverGrenada or @PureGrenada;
  2. Secondly, submit your photo entry at any time during the Campaign Period. To submit your entry, you can do ONE of the following:

  1. Participants may only submit by any one of the above-mentioned methods, and cannot submit their respective entries on more than one social medium, (so that, an entry via Facebook and an entry via Twitter or Instagram WILL NOT be accepted).
  2. The Authority will not accept responsibility for post/entries/submissions not displayed on our #CruiseGrenada Facebook tab as a result of any technical failures.

5. Conditions of Entry

  1. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void;
  2. If in the Authority’s opinion there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Campaign, or if computer virus, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or technical difficulties or failures compromise or corrupt or affect the administration, integrity, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Campaign, the Authority reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and void any entries submitted fraudulently. The Authority also reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Campaign, or to conduct a random drawing to award the prizes using all eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the campaign termination (entry) date;
  3.  Should the Competition be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, notice will be posted on the Website and Facebook Brand Page;
  4.  In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the winner based on an email address, the winning entry will be declared by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry;

6. How the Competition Works

  1. All entries or submissions made on Instagram and Twitter will be pooled and displayed onto our Brand Page’s  #CruiseGrenada tab where voting will be conducted and used for determining the winners. The submissions will also receive comments from the DiscoverGrenada/PureGrenada page informing participants of their approved entry and its listing on the #CruiseGrenada Competition tab;
  2. Participants must then encourage friends to vote for their favorite photo on that platform;
  3. Two (2) Passengers with the most liked entry will win the Grand Prize below and two (2) Crew Members with the most liked entry will win the Grand Prize below;
  4. The final date for receipt of entries for this Competition is Saturday April 30th 2017;

7. Determining the Winners

  1. The participants whose submissions carry the most number of likes will be selected as Grand Prize Winners (the “Grand Prize Winners”) on June 15th, 2017;
  2. Each will be contacted on June 19th 2017 (“First Notification Attempt”) by either the email address submitted on the Brand Page’s submission form or private message for Facebook entries. Winners who submitted via Instagram or Twitter will be contacted via private message on Instagram or Twitter; 
  3. Should there be more than two Passenger participants and two Crew participants with the highest score of likes in each competition, the Nautical Development staff of the Authority will conduct a random draw. The Authority’s decisions with respect to the Grand Prize Winners, these Official Rules, and all other matters pertaining to the Competition, shall be final and binding;
  4. The Grand Prize Winners will be required to sign an “Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability and Publicity” and return same, properly executed, within five (5) days of issuance of prize notification. The Authority will attempt to make contact with you for seven(7) business days after the First Notification Attempt;  if the Authority is unsuccessful in contacting the Grand Prize Winners,  or if any of the Grand Prize Winners fails to complete and return all requested forms by the specified date, or if any of the Grand Prize Winners fails to comply with any of the requirements, his/her prize will be forfeited and an alternate prospective winner or winners shall be selected; 
  5. The odds of winning depend upon the single eligible entry received and number of likes collected by that entry. Grand Prize Winners must not be close relatives (spouse, child, sibling, parent or guardian). Should this occur, a draw will be held to determine which winner will receive the Grand Prize package and another draw will determine which other participant will receive the other Grand Prize package.

8. Winners’ List

On June 19th 2017, you may obtain the names of the Grand Prize Winners (“Grand Prize Winners”) and their winning (photo) entry by going to the Pure Grenada Website or Discover Grenada Brand Social Media pages (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).

9. Grand Prize

The Grand Prize Winners shall receive the ideal dream vacation to Grenada with a guest and such prize which entails the following:
The specifics of all aforementioned elements of the Grand Prize in the Promotion shall be solely determined by the Authority;
  1. Each winner must present proof of being a Passenger or Crew Member upon notice of winning. This must be in the form of official cruise travel itinerary or online ticket or other such proof acceptable by the Authority;
  2. Each winner must select one (1) person who is 21 years or older to accompany him/her to the island to enjoy the Grand Prize; 
  3. Each winner and his/her guest must travel and experience the aspects of the Grand Prize together;
  4. All costs, taxes, fees, and expenses associated with any element of the Grand Prize not specifically addressed above are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner. All local taxes on the Grand Prize are the Grand Prize Winner’s responsibility;
  5. The Authority reserves the right to substitute the Grand Prize, or portions thereof, with a prize of equal or greater value;
  6. Although subject to availability, Air Canada Rouge, Caribbean Airlines, Condor, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines,  JetBlue, Delta Airlines, LIAT or SVG Air reserve the right to transport the winner and his/her guest from any of their departure airports (listed below) to Grenada and back.

  11. CRU- Lauriston Airport

  1. In the event the winner resides outside of the above specified Airlines’ departure airports, he/she is responsible for getting to any of the departure airports listed above to take the flight to Grenada;
  2. No winner is allowed to either exchange or sell this prize for monetary gains or any other profit as the grand prize is not transferable (unless stated otherwise) or redeemable for cash;
  3. Each winner and his/her guest must comply with the Official Rules of this Competition, the rules and regulations of service providers on the island of Grenada and the laws of Grenada.
  4. Each winner and his/her guest must follow the itinerary designed unless stated otherwise;
  5. Each winner and his/her guest must be available for travel to Grenada during the month of September 2017;
  6. The Authority does not accept any responsibility for any injuries or liabilities or damage to person or property or any expenses arising therefrom which may occur on the journey to Grenada, or while on island during receipt of the grand prize.

10. Limitations and Restrictions

    1. Only one entry per eligible person is permitted and only the first of multiple entries will be accepted;
    2. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address or social media account (including but not limited to “Facebook”, “Twitter”, “Instagram” accounts.) Any attempt to obtain more than one (1) entry per Campaign by using multiple/different email addresses, social media profiles and or platforms, registrations or logins, or any other methods may void your entries or disqualify your entry; 
    3. Participants’ entry must be a photo that they have captured while in the State of during the January to April 2017 Cruise Ship season; 
    4. Any use of robotic, repetitive, automatic, programmed or similar entry methods or agents (including, but not limited to, sweepstakes entry services) will void all entries by you; 
    5. In the event of a dispute as to any online entry, the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter will be deemed the entrant. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. The potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder; 
    6. Photoshopping persons or objects into potential entries (images) is not permitted; 
    7. The Organizers of this Competition reserve the right to remove any posts that are or can be viewed as offensive.

    11. Privacy

    1. In connection with the Competition entry process, the Authority will be collecting personal data about entrants on our Website and Facebook Brand Page in accordance with our privacy policy.  Please review our privacy policy located at:;  
    2. By participating in the Competition, you hereby agree to the Authority’s collection and use of your personal information and acknowledge that you have read and accepted the Authority’s privacy policy;  
    3. When you partake in this Competition, you may be asked to consent to receive promotional emails and reminders for upcoming promotions and information about the Authority and our brand (Pure Grenada). Consenting to receive such emails is optional, and you need not agree to enter the Competition. Agreeing does not improve your chances of winning. Except where prohibited, participation in the Competition constitutes your consent to the Authority’s use of your name, likeness, photo entry, and country of residence for promotional purposes in any media without further compensation or payment, or consideration;  
    4. By entering the Competition, participants have agreed to allow the Authority the right to use both their submitted photo and their personal details for future marketing, research and profiling initiatives. This will include the use of their submitted email addresses for our newsletter recipient database. The Authority warrants not to use any of these for use for commercial purposes, in accordance with our privacy policy;
    5. The Authority reserves the right to disclose participants’ personal information and submitted photos to third parties including but not limited to prize suppliers and sponsors.

    12. Limitations of Liability

    1. The Authority and other Campaign Entities,  their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parent companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and their respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents, and any and all Internet servers and access provider(s) are not responsible for  any incorrect or inaccurate entry information; human error; technical malfunctions; failures, omissions, interruption, deletion, or defect of any telephone network, computer online systems, computer equipment, server providers, or software, including any injury or damage to your or any other computer, smartphone and camera relating to or resulting from participation in this Campaign; inability to access the Website; theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries; transactions that are processed late or incorrectly or are incomplete or lost due to computer or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site and social media brand page; printing or human or other errors; and any entries which are late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, stolen, or any combination thereof; 
    2. Any online submission NOT done via our Brand Page’s #CruiseGrenada tab or, any submissions without their respective hashtags “#CruiseGrenada #VacationGoals” or “#CruiseGrenada #CrewLife  will not be considered proof of delivery or receipt; 
    3.  By entering, you agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Competition Entities and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, their respective representatives and agents, advertising and promotion agencies, promotion partners, sponsors and prize suppliers, and all of their respective affiliated companies, employees, officers, directors and shareholders, from and against all claims and damages or liability arising in connection with your participation and/or entry in the Competition  and/or your receipt or use of any prize awarded in this Campaign or due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any Competition-related activity or participation in this Competition; 
    4. Except where prohibited by law, the winner's entry and acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for the Campaign Entities to use said winners’ names, photographs, entries, likenesses, statements, biographical information, voices, and country of residence on a worldwide basis, and in all forms of media, in perpetuity, without further compensation;  
    5. If by reason of a printing or other error, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in these rules, all persons making purportedly valid claims will be included in a random drawing to award the number of four (4) winners available in the prize category in question; 
    6. No more than eight (8) persons will enjoy the Grand prize packages. (that is, each winner accompanied by one guest) The releases hereunder are intended to apply to all claims not known or suspected to exist with the intent of waiving the effect of laws requiring the intent to release future unknown claims.

    13. Governing Law

    1. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these rules, or the rights and obligations of any entrant or the Competition Entities in connection with the Competition, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Grenada without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions which would cause the application or the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Grenada. Any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Competition, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.
    2. By participating, you agree to service of process by mail or other method acceptable under the laws of Grenada.
