Star of the Show Sweepstakes Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
1. Eligibility
The Star of the Show Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open only to legal United States residents residing in the fifty (50) United States (and the District of Columbia) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Void where prohibited. Employees of Butterfly Records LLC (“Sponsor”), Penguin Random House LLC, Universal Promotions, Inc. (“Administrator”), Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel, Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum, Results Global Agency and each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, sales representatives, and all other service agencies involved with the Sweepstakes and members of their immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members (whether related or not) of each such employee are not eligible to participate or win. In order to enter the Sweepstakes or receive a Prize, you must fully comply with the Official Rules and, by entering, you represent and warrant that you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, whose decisions shall be binding and final in all respects relating to this Sweepstakes.

Administrator: Universal Promotions, Inc., 980 Walnut Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15234.
3. Timing
Sweepstakes begins on October 9, 2025 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends November 16, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET (“Sweepstakes Period”). The Sweepstakes is governed by these Official Rules and is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
4. How to Enter
There are two ways to enter:
Enter Online with Purchase. First, purchase the book “Star of the Show” by Dolly Parton, online or in person, at any of the retailers listed at https://dolly.lnk.to/StarOfTheShow. Then, provide your receipt or order number, and the following contact information in the Official Entry Form: first and last name, email address, phone number, and home address including zip code and follow the on-screen instructions to submit your entry and receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes.
Enter by Mailing-In without Purchase. To receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes without making a purchase, on a postcard, write your first and last name, home address, email address, and phone number (including area code) and mail it to: Star of the Show Sweepstakes, Penguin Random House, Attn: Allison Renzulli, 1745 Broadway - 1521, New York, NY 10019. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by November 17, 2025 and received by November 21, 2025.
Limit of one (1) entry per person during the Sweepstakes Period regardless of method of entry. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any entrant to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods that subvert the entry process will void that entrant’s entries and that entrant may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate in the Sweepstakes is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected entries, which will be disqualified.
5. Winner Determination
On or about November 21, 2025, Sponsor will select one (1) Prize winner (“Winner”) in a random drawing from among all valid entries received in accordance with the deadlines stated herein. The potential Winner will be contacted using the email address provided at the time of entry and may be awarded the Prize subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules. The potential Winner will be notified by email on or about two (2) business days after the random drawing. Failure by a potential Winner to respond to the email within five (5) days of notification will result in disqualification, and Sponsor will have the right to select an alternate potential Winner in the same manner. Odds of winning the Prize depend on the number of eligible entries received in accordance with the deadlines stated herein.
6. THE POTENTIAL WINNER IS SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY SPONSOR. SPONSOR’S DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE ADMINISTRATION, OPERATION, SELECTION OF THE WINNER AND OTHER MATTERS RELATED TO THE SWEEPSTAKES.
7. Verification of Potential Winners
The potential Prize Winner must complete, sign, and return the presented affidavit of eligibility, liability release, and appropriate tax documents (the “Documents”), and may be asked to sign a publicity release, within five (5) calendar days of delivery of the Documents in order to be confirmed as the Prize Winner.
In the event (a) the potential Winner cannot be reached for whatever reason after a reasonable effort has been exerted, or the potential Winner notification or Documents are returned as undeliverable, (b) potential Winner declines or cannot accept, receive or use the Prize for any reason, (c) of noncompliance with these Official Rules or any of the aforesaid time periods, or (d) potential Winner is found to be ineligible to enter the Sweepstakes or receive the Prize, the potential Winner shall be disqualified from the Sweepstakes and an alternate potential Winner may be selected in a random drawing, time and circumstances permitting, from among the other eligible entries received. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, will attempt to contact up to three (3) potential winners of the Prize in accordance with the above procedure, after which the Prize in question may go unawarded if it remains unclaimed.
8. Prize
There is one (1) prize (“Prize”) available. The Prize consists of: Tickets and hotel accommodations for Winner and Guest to experience “Dolly's Life Of Many Colors Museum” in Nashville, Tennessee (“Experience”), including:
Two (2) nights accommodations for Winner and Guest at Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel in Nashville, TN (one room, double occupancy, room and tax only) Winner is responsible for incidental fees, charges, and/or deposit required by the hotel and should be prepared to present a credit card at check-in;
Two (2) tickets to Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum;
Two (2) tickets to the Grand Ole Opry show taking place on a date selected by Winner;
Two (2) tickets for a Grand Ole Opry backstage tour to take place on a date selected by Winner;
and one (1) prepaid gift card (gift card type will be selected and provided at the discretion of Sponsor) worth one thousand dollars ($1,000), intended to be used by Winner for travel or other expenses.
The Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of the Prize is $2,000.
The Prize includes tickets, gift card, and hotel accommodations only; travel is NOT included with the Prize. All costs and expenses associated with Prize acceptance and use which are not specifically included in the applicable Prize description above, including but not limited to transportation, meals, gratuities, insurance, federal, state, and local taxes, and other expenses, are the sole responsibility of the Winner.
Experience dates to be selected by Winner and approved by Sponsor in its sole discretion, and must occur within twelve (12) months after the opening of Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel and Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum, currently scheduled for June 2026. If Winner is not able to get to Nashville, TN prior to July 31, 2027, the Prize will be forfeited and no other Prize or alternate compensation will be provided.
All dates and locations above in connection with the Prize are subject to change. If the actual value of the Prize turns out to be less than the stated ARV, the difference will not be awarded in cash. Prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Prize is non-transferable. No substitutions or cash redemptions provided that the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize in whole or in part for a Prize of equal or greater value in the event that any component of the Prize is unavailable for any reason. Prize may not be sold, bartered, or transferred. Tickets are subject to Terms and Conditions as specified thereon.
If the Winner rejects his/her Prize, or in the event of noncompliance with these Sweepstakes Official Rules and requirements, such Prize will be forfeited and an alternate Winner may be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Upon any Prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.
9. Entry Conditions and Release
Each entrant agrees to: (a) comply with and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor which are binding and final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes; (b) defend, indemnify, release and hold harmless the Sponsor, Administrator, Penguin Random House LLC, Results Global Agency, Dolly Parton, and their respective parent, subsidiary, and affiliated companies, and any other person and organization responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the Sweepstakes, and all of their respective past and present officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liability, including but not limited to negligence and damages of any kind to persons and property, including but not limited to invasion of privacy (under appropriation, intrusion, public disclosure of private facts, false light in the public eye or other legal theory), defamation, slander, libel, violation of right of publicity, infringement of trademark, copyright or other intellectual property rights, property damage, or death or personal injury arising out of or relating to creation of an entry, participation in the Sweepstakes, acceptance, possession, attendance at, defect in, delivery of, inability to use, use or misuse of Prize (including any travel or activity related thereto) and/or the broadcast, exploitation or use of entry.
10. Publicity
Except where prohibited or restricted by law, Winner’s acceptance of Prize constitutes the Winner’s agreement and consent for Sponsor and any of its designees to use and/or publish Winner’s name, city and state of residence, photographs or other likenesses, pictures, portraits, video, voice, testimonials, biographical information (in whole or in part), and/or statements made by Winner regarding the Sweepstakes or Sponsor, worldwide and in perpetuity for any and all purposes, including, but not limited to, advertising, trade and/or promotion on behalf of Sponsor, in any and all forms of media, now known or hereafter devised, including, but not limited to, print, TV, radio, electronic, cable, or World Wide Web, without further limitation, restriction, compensation, notice, review, or approval.
11. General Conditions
Sponsor, Administrator and their subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors shall not have any obligation or responsibility, including any responsibility to award any Prize to entrants, with regard to: (a) entries that contain inaccurate information or do not comply with or violate the Official Rules; (b) entries, Prize claims or notifications that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, damaged or otherwise not received by the intended recipient, in whole or in part, due to computer, human or technical error of any kind; (c) entrants who have committed fraud or deception in entering or participating in the Sweepstakes or claiming the Prize; (d) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties; (e) any inability of the winner to accept the Prize for any reason; (f) if the Prize cannot be awarded due to delays or interruptions due to Acts of God, natural disasters, terrorism, weather or any other similar event beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control; or (g) any damages, injuries or losses of any kind caused by any Prize or resulting from awarding, acceptance, possession, use, misuse, loss or misdirection of any Prize or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or any promotion or Prize related activities. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be (a) tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes, or with any Website promoting the Sweepstakes; (b) acting in violation of the Official Rules; or (c) entering or attempting to enter the Sweepstakes multiple times through the use of multiple email addresses or the use of any robotic or automated devices to submit entries. If Sponsor determines, in its sole discretion, that technical difficulties or unforeseen events compromise the integrity or viability of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right to void the entries at issue, and/or terminate the relevant portion of the Sweepstakes, including the entire Sweepstakes, and/or modify the Sweepstakes and/or select the Prize Winner from all eligible entries received as of the termination date.
In the event of dispute as to the identity or eligibility of the Winner based on an email account, the winning entry will be declared made by the “Authorized Account Holder” of the email account submitted at the time of the entry, as long as such person is otherwise eligible in accordance with these Official Rules. The Authorized Account Holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address.
12. Limitations of Liability
The Released Parties are not responsible for: (a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes; (b) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (c) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Sweepstakes; (d) technical or human error in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of registrations; or (e) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use or misuse of any Prize. If for any reason an entrant’s entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, entrant’s sole remedy is another entry in the Sweepstakes. No more than the stated number of Prizes will be awarded.
13. Disputes
Except where prohibited, by participating, entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, administration, and enforceability of the Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of an entrant and Sponsor shall be governed by and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of the state of Tennessee without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law of any jurisdiction and that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of actions arising out of, or connected with the Sweepstakes, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with participating, but in no event attorney’s fees; (3) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. By entering the Sweepstakes, all entrants agree to be subject to jurisdiction in the Federal and State courts of Tennessee and agree that all disputes relating in any way to this Sweepstakes must be resolved in the courts of Tennessee. Entrants agree not to raise the defense of forum non convenience.
14. Privacy Policy
Sponsor may collect personal data about entrants in accordance with its privacy policy. Please review the privacy policy at [https://dollyparton.com/privacy-policy]. By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s privacy policy.
14. Sweepstakes Results
To obtain the name of the Winner, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope after the conclusion of the Sweepstakes Period to: Results Global Agency, 1415 Heil Quaker Blvd, Attn: “Star of the Show Sweepstakes – Winners List”. Requests must be received within 60 days of the end of the Sweepstakes Period.
