This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. You understand that you are providing your information to Longwood University and not to Facebook. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS CONTEST.
Who Can Enter
You are eligible to enter if:
▪ As of April 5, 2014, you are age of majority or older in the state in which you reside; OR
▪ As of April 5, 2014, you are between the ages of 16 and the age of majority in the state in which you reside and have your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to enter; AND
▪ You are a legal United States resident residing in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
You are not eligible to enter and will be disqualified if:
▪ As of April 5, 2014, you are an employee of Longwood University or any of its respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies or a member of the immediate family of a Longwood University employee (parent, children, siblings, spouse, regardless of where they live) or live in the same household of a Longwood University employee (whether related or not).
▪ As of April 5, 2014, you are a currently enrolled student of Longwood University or any of its respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies.
How to Enter
To enter, visit http://www.facebook.com/LongwoodUniversity, like the page, and fill out the entry from. You must like the page. (If you already like the page, proceed with entry form). You must complete all required fields on the entry form. You may enter only once each contest day. Duplicate entries will be discarded and will not be considered for prize eligibility purposes. Only entries submitted via the Facebook electronic form will be accepted. Entries submitted via any other method, including but not limited to email, U.S. Postal Service, facsimile or other express delivery services, will NOT be accepted. By submitting your entry form, you accept all contest rules.
Deadline for Entries
Your entry must be received by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, April 4, 2014.
Winner Selection, Prizes and Notification
Odds of winning depend on the total number of responses received by the deadline. One (1) winner will be randomly selected from the completed entries by the deadline. The winner’s name will be posted on Longwood University’s Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/LongwoodUniversity, and the winner will be notified via email within seven (7) days of the drawing. If you do not reply within 72 hours, you forfeit the prize. Random winner selection will be conducted by Longwood University personnel. The winner will receive a campus tour of Longwood University with VIP accommodations. The tour package includes:
▪ Selecting your preferred tour date at http://www.whylongwood.com/apps/calendar/,
▪ A certificate good for one overnight stay at Longwood University’s Bed & Breakfast for up to two rooms ($230-$290 value, expires 12/31/2014),
▪ A $75 gift card for Charley’s Waterfront Cafe restaurant,
▪ A $25 gift card to the Longwood bookstore,
▪ 4 lunch tickets to the Longwood Dining Hall ($32 value),
▪ A $50 gas gift card, and
▪ A reserved parking space on campus valid the day of your tour.
Collecting the prize
If the winner is younger than the age of majority in the state in which he/she resides as of April 5, 2014, then such individual’s parent or legal guardian must provide written permission allowing the individual to accept the prize. Such individual’s parent or legal guardian also will be responsible for signing any necessary releases, consents, and affidavits. Additionally, if the winner uses the free overnight stay at Longwood University’s Bed & Breakfast, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the winner if the winner is not 18 or older as of the date on which travel arrangements and/or hotel accommodations are made pursuant to the prize.
By participating in the Longwood University “Win a Campus Tour with VIP Accommodations” Contest (the "Contest"), entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Longwood University, Facebook, and both of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, dealers, dealer advertising associations, advertising and promotions agencies, prize suppliers and any other agency that provides services in connection with this Contest, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, contractors and agents and successors and assigns (collectively, the "Released Parties") from and against any and all rights, claims and causes of action whatsoever that they may have, or which may arise, against any of them for any liability for any matter, cause or thing whatsoever, including but not limited to any injury, loss, damage, whether direct, compensatory, incidental or consequential, to person, including death and property, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from their acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize in the Contest, or their participation in the Contest, or their participation in any Contest or prize related activity. Entrant also further acknowledges that Longwood University, its affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, officers, directors, and promotions and advertising agencies have neither made, nor are in any manner responsible or liable for, any warranty, representation or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize or the Contest.
Except where prohibited, participation in the Contest constitutes entrant's consent to use of entrant's name, likeness, photograph, information submitted in the entry form, opinions and/or hometown and state by Longwood University and its parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, and their advertising and promotion agencies and other designees' for promotional, publicity, public relations and advertising purposes in any manner in any and all media now or hereafter known worldwide in perpetuity, without further payment, consideration, permission or notification. By entering the contest, you may, from time to time, receive information from Longwood University. You can opt out of receiving communication at any time.
Entry in this contest has no bearing on admission status to Longwood University. Winning the VIP Tour contest does not guarantee admission to Longwood, nor should it be construed as having any impact on the process of application for admission. Longwood University reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Longwood University's reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Longwood University in its sole discretion. If terminated, Longwood University may, at its sole discretion through qualified judges, select the potential Winner from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received. Longwood University reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Longwood University reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Any failure by Longwood University to enforce any term of these Official Rules or any applicable laws shall not constitute a waiver of such right. If any provision of these Official Rules is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, then entrant, Longwood University and the court shall endeavor to give effect to the intent reflected in that provision, and the remaining Official Rules shall retain their full force and effect.
Limitations of Liability
The Released Parties are not responsible for: (i) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrant, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (iii) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (iv) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (v) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. Longwood University is not responsible for late or undeliverable entries or for any technical problems, malfunctions of computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof. Longwood University and the Released Parties are also not responsible for any typographical/other error in entries, selection announcement or for any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participation in, accessing or downloading information in connection with this Contest.
This Contest is void where prohibited or otherwise regulated. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Longwood University in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the Commonwealth of Virginia or any other jurisdiction.)
