A new Waste Compactor arrives at the Barrie Landfill! The primary function of the compactor is to reduce the volume of garbage at the Landfill site and conserve available airspace. Compacting waste efficiently helps ensure the landfill can stay open and continue to operate for residents in the City of Barrie.

The project winner of the Collect & Share Improvements fall contest draw was ... the launch of Specialized Transit Online Booking Portal! The prize was a gift card for downtown businesses. Congratulations!
Led by Julie MacDonald, Transit Coordinator, Transit and Parking Strategy, this project alllows passengers to go online with any device to book, cancel and manage Specialized Transit trips, and see the bus approaching on a live map. This project will help reduce phone wait times with the contracted service provider, estimated to save each customer over four hours per year!
