ASCE is looking for striking photographs of bridges, taken in the United States or abroad, that highlight design and engineering achievements of civil engineers.
Contestants must be individuals over 18 years of age or engineering firms, and they must be the creator or owner of submitted photographs. Contestants may enter up to five photos; each individual photo may be entered in only one category. Images submitted to previous ASCE Bridges Photo Contests may be resubmitted, in the same or a different category. However, winning images from previous ASCE Bridges Photo Contests may not be resubmitted. Cash prizes will be awarded, and all submissions are eligible for inclusion in ASCE’s next Bridges Calendar.
Judges will recognize two winners in each of the following seven categories:
- All Bridges
- Small Town/City Bridges (in towns with populations less than 100,000)
- Historic Bridges (in service before 1968 and historically important to the region located)
- Pedestrian Bridges
- High Dynamic Range (HDR) Images
- Black & White Images
- ASCE Student Members
In addition, up to 12 photographs will be selected as finalists for the Viewer’s Choice Award, which will be voted on by the general public.
To enter, contestants must complete the online entry form below and upload the photographs as directed. Details about the contest, including eligibility requirements and category descriptions, are available in the 2021 Official Rules.
