Rip, my spunky little Dachshund, is full of personality. Despite his small size, he’s always on the go with an adventurous spirit. Sweet and affectionate, he loves cuddles, playing fetch and barking but his favorite thing to do is wrestle with his brother Jax. Rip’s playful energy and loving nature make him the perfect dachshund for Discover Buda!
Rio is a spirited pup with a lightning-fast sprint and an irresistible smile. His favorite pastime? Chasing after his beloved ball—again and again! While he never says no to a treat, his true joy comes from showering everyone with kisses. At around five years old, Rio proves that age is just a number, bringing boundless energy and charm wherever he goes. Don’t be fooled by his small stature—this rescue pup carries himself with big-dog confidence. Now, he’s ready to steal hearts and make his mark in Buda!
Milo Porfirio: The Trilingual Charmer Ready to Dash into Buda’s Heart! Meet Milo Porfirio Flores, the four-year-old dachshund with a personality as big as his name! Fluent in English, Spanish, and “doggy,” Milo knows exactly how to win over a crowd—whether it’s with his wagging tail, irresistible puppy-dog eyes, or his signature trick of (somehow) getting himself locked in rooms. This little adventurer never turns down a good time, especially if it involves pup cups, apples, or exploring new places with his mom. He may not be the fastest racer, but he’s the friendliest competitor you’ll ever meet—charming fans, making friends, and stealing hearts at every turn. With his paws poised and tail wagging, Milo Porfirio is ready to race, charm, and claim his title as the Official Discover Buda Dachshund of 2025!
Dallas comes from a long line of miniature dachshunds. Her mother is a short haired Piebald miniature dachshund and her dad is a long-haired miniature dachshund. Dallas is a loving, smart and charismatic little girl. She will be five in April. Her favorite activity is definitely swimming. She loves to swim in the lake, pool, and the river. Her favorite pastime is definitely floating the river. She likes to go under and collect rocks and take them to the side and make a pile. She will do this for an hour nonstop. Dallas‘s favorite snacks are carrots, cucumbers, and apples. She loves most fruit and vegetables that are approved for dogs to eat. She will do tricks for treats anytime! Dallas knows how to shake with her left and right paw, speak, lay down on command, and loves to give high five! Dallas is truly are for baby now that our children are grown. She gives us lots of cuddles and kisses and sleeps with us every night! She also loves to travel with us as long as she gets to come along. She has flown on a plane many times and is usually on her best behavior! We truly are blessed to have such a wonderful little addition to our family that shows us so much love!
Meet Teddy, the irresistibly charming miniature dachshund! This little bundle of joy captivates everyone he meets with his delightful personality. Whether he's dashing through the park with his favorite humans or stealing the spotlight at local events, Teddy is truly the life of the party! This year, he’s making an electrifying comeback at the Wiener Dog Races, ready to dazzle everyone with his speed and infectious spirit. Teddy would love to be the official Discover Buda Dachshund and be that symbol of joy for all.
(Wiener) Schnitzel is a 1.5 year old feisty mini long haired dachshund. She’s got lots of spunk, loves to snuggle in a warm lap, and isn’t afraid to give a healthy dose of the side eye. Notably, she’s a black and tan piebald, and has only white whiskers on one side of her snout and black on the other. She’s a unique pup who is proud to call Buda her home.
Milo is an EXTREME people person, he has always loved to be apart of “human business”. He has the heart of a small toddler and loves to sprint with happiness everywhere he goes. Milo would LOVE to be the official Discover Buda Dachshund due to his loving and calm personality with all different types of people, he loves to meet new friends, and run with might! He is super photogenic and can be a great role model for small dachshund’s in Buda and any visiting! 💗
Why should Alphie be the official Buda pup? Because this piebald prince, with his unique white and brown coat, is a bundle of dachshund joy! He might be a rookie racer, but he's got the heart of a champion. Alphie's daily training involves high-speed chases of his 5-year-old human brother and his 6-year-old feline sister, so he's got the agility! Plus, he's motivated by two things: treats and the company of his fellow dachshunds. Imagine the adorable sight of Alphie, ears flapping, racing towards victory (and maybe a tasty reward)! He's got the spirit, the charm, and the love for all things dachshund – he's the perfect Buda pup!
Rupert is a 2 year old long haired pie-bald who loves to play (chasing leaves is his favorite). He is sweet and so pretty! 😊. Rupert loves to make people smile, and often spreads joy at the Provident memory care facility where both residents and facility staff love him and look forward to his visits! Rupert loves to visit Buda’s Main Street, when he is not chasing leaves!
Fred is the funniest weenie dog you’ll ever meet! He has so much personality and is the most lovable pup. In January someone actually stole him while my brother was visiting friends in Lubbock. We finally got him back after two months because he got away and someone recognized him from our flyers!! We are so happy to have our Freddy back.
Toastie is always ready to explore new places, making her the perfect ambassador for discovering all the hidden gems Buda has to offer! Plus, her adorable dachshund traits—short legs, long body, and big heart — often captures the hearts of both locals and visitors alike already. She’s not just a pup; she’s a symbol of Buda’s warm and welcoming community! Did we mention she’s a previous winner of the Burnet Bluebonnet festival dachshund races?
We were blessed to find Franklin as a rescue he was living on the streets and had no idea what love was as we don’t know his past we were prepared to give him a future full of love. We nursed him to health and created a very spoiled boy who loves pupcups from target and going on car rides. Although he’s not a puppy they assumed he was around 2-3 years old he’s our baby. He did his first race back in 2024 he won first place we did it for fun not thinking he’d win but he definitely showed us! Hes a silly, spoiled and loving but sometimes sassy weenie. This is our boys story.
Bailee is a fun-loving, adventure-seeking pup with a heart as big as her excitement! She’s never met a stranger—only future best friends. The moment she thinks you’re talking about her, her ears perk up, and she tilts her head just right, flashing that adorable doggie grin like she knows she’s the star of the show. And let’s be honest—she totally is! Bailee doesn’t just walk into a room; she makes an ENTRANCE. She starts wagging her tail, and she expects (rightfully so) all the pets, belly rubs, and love she can get. She thrives on attention and soaks up every compliment like a true celebrity in the spotlight. With her playful spirit and natural charm, she’s always ready adventure, whether it’s a long walk, a road trip, or just stealing hearts at the park. One thing’s for sure—Bailee was born to shine. With her happy-go-lucky energy and star power, she could easily have her own fan club. And honestly? She’d love every second of it!
Dear voters, I’m writing to nominate my dog, Beans, as the official “Discover Buda Dachshund”. Beans has a personality that’s larger than life, with energy that rivals a toddler on a sugar high. He’s not just a dog; he’s an experience. Beans is basically the Usain Bolt of dachshunds. He’s got speed, agility, and a tail that wags so fast it could power a small village. His pre-race rituals are legendary: a tiny headband, a couple of stretches, and a look of pure determination that says, “I was born for this.” Lastly, Beans is a social butterfly. He’s like the mayor of the dog park, shaking paws and kissing babies (well, licking them, but you get the idea). In conclusion, choosing Beans is like choosing a firework show over a candle – he’s guaranteed to light up the event and leave everyone cheering for more. So, let Beans take the spotlight, and get ready for a race day that’ll have everyone cheering and wagging their tails! Sincerely, Beans’ Mom
Marty Stuart aka Martin aka Martina McBride aka Martini Weenie aka Martayna Tucker is beloved by all those with whom he bestows his presence. His classic sassy dachshund attitude is his crowning feature but his long body and low legs are sure to turn any head. His side eye can change hearts and minds and his hatred of Amazon drivers rivals any other. Marty Stuart is the very essence of the dachshund breed and would be proud to carry the title of “official Discover Buda Dachshund” - a crowning achievement that cannot be topped.
Codesters brosters should become the official Discover Buda Dachshund because he might be almost 11, but he is spunky and always ready to roll! Lazy, but once he’s let outside, he’s doing full yard zoomies! He’s sweet with a bit of spice. He’s also a Georgia boy, a bit country and loves eating anything that’s on the ground lol he might have some white hairs, but don’t let age fool you! He is energetic and considered a track star to his mama!
This is Ollie and he is a 2 year old mini dachshund. He loves going on hikes, destroying lamb chops, and begging for belly rubs in his free time. He may have little legs but he is a very active dog. Together we travel all over the US and discover new places. We’ve also been dabbling in barn hunt and fast cat for fun. We would love to represent Discover Buda!!

Teddie is chocolate based mini longhaired dachshund. He has the luckiest birthday on 3/24/24! He is a dachshund in every way but he seems to be a dachshund that can jump like he’s competing in the Olympics. He loves food! He really loves his treats. He always shows off his zoomies and plays with his brother . But most of all he loves his human and shows them unconditionally.
Forest is an outgoing, fun loving little guy! He enjoys hiking, swimming, and of course racing! Forest has won over 25 times in races all across Texas ! He shares an Instagram with his 2 sisters and you can follow them on @itshardbeingwieners
